If memory serves correctly, BT was in the Tournament 2000. What was unique about the fighters sent from China was that they were all involved in law enforcement. Just to let you know what BT was up against. He did win.

chinese cops suck at fighting. my uncle is in the police and they think taekwondo is a deadly martial art. i asked him to teach me chinese police fighting expecting sanda but he gave me a taekwondo vcd.

the last time he beefed like this it went on for months… over a year i think… and the night of the fight, an event that they sold tickets for, they both showed and they still didnt fight… im glad i just got the recap after the fact… it would have been annoying to follow it… so my advice is to forget about this till you hear that it actually happened… cause there will be another 20 fifteen minute long bullsh1t ego-vids between now and when it will either happen or get squashed… the one guy is a midget, so its a dumb fight anyways… BT is like twice his hight… BT is a skinny guy and he’s way bigger than this other cat…
this is classic case of huge guy flails arms, beat up 2 midgets and thinks he proved kung fu works

I didn’t think he won. I thought it was a draw or something like that, but I could be thinking of a different event. Anyway, other than a couple san shou matches, I remember video of him showing beng quan in some kind of fight (I don’t know if it was challenge or an in school type of sparring thing… was a long time ago that he had it up).
I have the full footage of BT’s “Bagua-style ground fighting” somewhere, without condemning or condoning, it was interesting at least.

Thank you for sharing that. One thing is certain with regard to that event was that he did not lose. I was going from memory. I have the event on tapes somewhere, amongst a several hundred others.
The sad thing is that BT has absolutely nothing to gain with such a match at this point, win or lose. I was in the audience at his first Bagua Tournament. This was when he openly invited people to try him if they had the courage (during his “your sh!t is fake phase” 
). Well, there were some people who did “push hands” with him, only to try to sneak him while pushing. He would shut them down in such a way that if they went beyond their first move, it would be all over for them. And he did it in such a way that few noticed. And he kept it friendly. That took some really good sensitivity on his part and to his credit I never saw him brag about those encounters (and this guy is able to get on youtube and talk about it forever).

i think his bagua form is amazing, its one of the best ive seen. but his video explaining fighting looks like ghetto slap boxing. i dont understand how his students can do fingertip pushups yet fight so badly. i like that hes teaching in a park old school style.
Black Taoist has been very opinionated for years now. He’s expert at disabling his students in instructional videos and marketing himself as a ghetto guru.
The fights he had were over a decade ago and would not be considered “san da” today. Look at that video above. Look at the body structure. Broken and unrooted in much of it. We were sparring in similar taped-rin venues in Karate tournaments in the 1980s.
In my personal experience he appeared very willing to compare skill with my master who was 65 years old at the time and nearly two feet smaller. Yet, whenever a similarly sized skilled fighter agrees to fight… nothing.
In fact, after all these years, what is his professional or amateur record according to the NY athletic commission (the state where he lives) 0-0-0 … as in, not participating. Not that that means anything.
But he has shown a willingness to offer internet challenges and speaks of doing the world a favor and demonstrating his skills in an MMA venue but it never happens. If he had the will and ability there are countless venues to do so now.
Truth be told: he’s too old. His time has passed. An MMA man of his size with 10 years MMA experience would feed him his lunch. And he knows it. Which is why he uses his mouth instead of strapping on some gloves.
I don’t mean to come off as a hater, but I’ve listened to his y bull for years and have seen zero.
There are too many people training for real, putting their skill to the real test, for this man to deserve any attention.

Anyone can throw their students around in instructional videos. If the taped-ring clip above or the 1 amateur “San Da” match are indications of his Ba Gua, the quality is certainly Chinese junk… like milk with poison or toys with lead. Garbage.
Another indication of this: after all these years aggressively putting down other’s training methods and styles, propping himself up as some ghetto guru, what has he done other than talk? Who has he fought?
He’s a huge guy. The only person he really seamed eager to fight was my 65 year old master… who had long proven himself in NYC before BT was born. For some reason anytime someone his size with training calls him out, the fight never happens. There are so many venues available to anyone today who thinks they got something better to show. Go show it.
Its ridiculous that the martial art community gives this man attention. That he’s appeared in magazines. There are countless warriors training hard, out there fighting in all sorts of MMA and Vale Tudo matches with real, demonstratable skill.
No fighting + Big talking = mouth boxer.

Can you explain this for me? What was the excuse for not fighting? Injury?
