If punching someone in the head 'til they fall down isn’t considered “real kung fu” what possibly could real kung fu be?
Here is a clip off that EF site that is interesting at the beginning showing internal
http://www.brainsalad.com/mov/clip06.mov
There is a guy who posts alot there who trains in the direct chen style lineage. His website has a few short video clips
http://www.mindboxing.com has some limited clips. One of a zero-inch penetrating 10% strike

The pic came from asia’s fights at the bullshido Mcthrowdown. That was an action shot. It came from the video. So yeah. Chambers are relative and mutable.

I suggest if someone doesn’t think BT can fight, they contact him. He’s been willing to prove himself before.
Why talk sh!* on someone else’s behalf?
I thought it was good enough. The only problem that I saw was that if his opponent was able to recover, BT’s guard was down. His head was a little exposed. OTOH, he dominated the fight, had the guy back on his heels, and positioned himself for an obvious power punch.

I have my own opinions on the techniques, which I will reserve for now.
I was just interested in everyone’s opinions of it in terms of whether or not it seemed like a good representation of what a kung fu application (regardless of style) should be like in a live, full-contact context.
Why limit it to kung fu, since your question is now functionally changed to mean “do you like this application, all martial artists?”
That does not look like how someone who practices tai hui fights, but that is irrelevant, because that is not tai hui. Now, knocking down an opponent would be a good result, knocking one out would be good as well. I favor a more vigorous guard and longer duration assaults, but I’m sure there’s been five second spans where I didn’t. I don’t know if anyone was filming those. Is that what you are asking?
I am curious as to whether most kung fu people think that was a viable and effictient application, or whether they share the last poster’s opinion.
So, my options are 1) His hsing yi is how I would apply hsing yi, if I did anything like it, which I really don’t, or 2) His hsing yi is not nearly like the hsing yi I don’t do?
Why not simply post this on an auto mechanics forum and ask their opinions?![]()
Anyway, on to fresher topics. Why do you reserve your opinion? Please share.![]()
I just wonder because blacktaoist’s opponent dosn’t throw a counter right( or kicks, ) or something like someone said. Which right hand would be better, backing away to counter or setting up by going forward?
Its clearly not anything to do with CMA, as BT once saw an origami demo and that makes him a MMA guy.
?
Anyone have any good salsa recipes?
well, I think this thread has effectively been KTFO…
BT does not have real kungfu, per se, but he does engage in kungfu related program activities.

well, I think this thread has effectively been KTFO…
But was it KTFO with good kung fu or just lowly boxing?

Looked like some kind of degenerated kickboxing to me.

Oh yeah. That one. I wish someone would start a thread about the kung fu. So we could all talk about it, and what it looks like, and all. Maybe get some video clips of someone doing the kung fu, and see if people think the clips look like the kung fu.
