I probarly went overboard in my last post and i have no wish to get into a p!ssing contest over an internet forum - i have wasted enough time on such persuits in the past. As such i will openly appologise for insulting you when we have previously had no contact. Having said that i still find your general attitude and demeanor to be deplorable.

- It should not be enough to simply be remembered, after all people will probarly never forget Hitler either. What matters is what sort of ‘impression’ you make on the world in the time you are here. I personaly would rather be happily remembered by a few than hated by masses.

- I have no wish to pass judgements on your martial arts ability, i am however quite capable of passing personal judgement on the comments you make. As such i have made my position very clear - i dont understand what your doing here. Its also not much of a strech to realise if you dont have the general intelligence to hold a conversation with a fellow practioner without resorting to insults, then chances are you are also poor in your communications with your students. Meaning that no matter what level of ability you personaly hold the chances of it being correctly and compleately passed on would be severly limited.

they attack me, i attack back and i admit this this time only. quote me if you like…slap a person and you will get his true colors. he will either fight back (meaninig spill info) or run away. that is the fight or flight syndrome. i wanted to know what and where joseph is getting his information from and he did exactly as i wanted him to do.
i don’t know him so on a personal level i can’t say i don’t like him. on kfo, he is just joseph. the same way u don’t know me, what my abilities are, what my true character is like, or even if i have a good sense of humor.
i chose not to show those sides here. for what? the people on this forum only attack everything they get their hands on.
this historical issue never started with me, it started long ago with our elders and it just carried over to this generation. i only re-iginted it to see where they are in knowing their history. i have never truly told anyone what i know on the history, and you can check this out for yourself.
anyways, it is a hung sing rule to never back down from an enemy, and people like joseph, fu pow, slurpent, and the like have chosen the side as my enemy.
they trust in words others have written. but are stories such as wu van cheuk writing the chans history and attempting to impress lun chee with it, and he rejected it immedieately as rubbish.
no one truly shares knowledge here, they only take the position as “i have the knowledge, follow me!” just as joseph has done. they all follow him and if anything comes up controversial they turn to him as if he is a god. but they don’t even respect their own sifus by bypassing them for knowledge and turning to joseph who is hellbent on preserving chan family history. the chan family always stops with chan heung and never goes beyond that point. maybe the reason why is because they are afraid hung sing lineage may be telling the truth.
the hung sing history has always been passed down word of mouth. other than illiteracy, i can’t tell you why no one has ever written the history down, but if you respect your sifu and he tells you the history as it was passed down to him, it is our duty not to dispute him.
the word of mouth accounts of the history by our elders are very important. and if you have a high ranking elder in your lineage, he can’t afford to risk his reputation by tellin g lies. there are too many people out there to dispute this. anything written by man hand can and will always be changed to fit what they want the public to believe.
there are no records from chan heungs erea, only his grandson documented the history according to what his father told him. so in accordance we did the same. so when we put it out dogs like joseph attack out of fear of losing their ground. it wasn’t until very recent years when the intelligence amongst the hung sing members began to rise is when we finally sought out tell our story. i have been doing clf for 20yrs+ and not even my sifu or my sigung really ever cared about the history, only how good is your gung fu. but when you compare notes with other schools you never knew existed and it basically was the same there must be some truth within our branch on our history.
yes the hung sing branch may have some things twisted and yes they needto correct some things, but the chan families version of the history is full of holes as well. we never lived during that time so how do we know what is written down is actually true without so eye witness accounts. this is where the chan familys power lies, there is no way to dispute it because evidence of that time does not exist.
one must take into account what the climate was like in china. how everything is life or death. people were regularly killed just on suspicion of being involved in the revolution. and it is truly evident jeong yim was heavily involved in the revolution. if one were to wipe the hatred from their eyes they would truly see choy lee fut is not choy lee fut with out hung sing and the buk sing branches. but the chan clan says chan heung is the end all of choy lee fut but there are 2 established branches that don’t agree with 1 branches version. this means we have to investigate further. why doesn’t the buk sing and hung sing branches agree with the chan heung account of the history? what would we have to gain by overthrowing the chan clan? jeong yims hung sing lineage is strong enough to stand on its own with its own history. jeong yim was legendary. we don’t need to bump them. but it is not their place in this family tree to assert their version of the history without taking into account the other 2 versions which seem to differ from 1. so why do we differ? that is where we go from here. joseph and the rest are not trying to discuss this, they are trying to dominate us by giving reasons why they feel they are right. not trying to get to the bottom of things respectfully.
i truly don’t need this forum to be a good sifu, or a good practitioner of clf. the proof is in the pudding and i have never met anyone that says i don’t know my choy lee fut. master dave lacey can see i know my stuff.
