As a side note, the master that can jump the rail cars…BS!
It’s 2004 pal, if this was true we’d have clips, TV specials, and live performances to prove what you say. The Guiness Book people would be all over it! Also, even if thsi old man can do those things, can his students do them?

 don’t you love an informed statement…

I shouldn’t feed your trolling, but if you’rereally interested, shixinghao in texas is a student of his and I have no idea whether he learntthis. Remember, shideqian has had 7 decades to learn and hone his art. do a search dude, I’m sure you’ll find somethingbecause honestly, I can’t be bothered

BloomingLotus, I’m sorry you think I’m a troll. I think you’re living in a martial arts fantasy world if you believe people can jump like in the movies.
I looked at ShiXingHao’s website. It’s very nice, though still under construction. Good videos of Wushu performaces. This guy is definately a talented athelete and could do well in any Olympic gymnastic floor exercise competition. There was no jumping over rail cars, but he could take a decent flying leap into the air. His iron body demonstration was typical of performance-fu…Again, I’d like to see a feat like that done if someone were to give him a shove first, or in a fight. It would be nice to see some proof to the claims of things like the super high jumping and iron body outside of staged performances. Sadly, this kind of myth is still pervasive today, still detracting from CMA.

Relax bud, it’s just a forum…

Um… ok…

My point is, what good is it if you have to ready yourself and then allow someone to strike you in order for it to work?

That’s a good point, since such a skill wouldn’t be much good at all. However, that’s not what legitimate iron body teaches.

Ok…well then, what’s legitimate iron body, and who teaches it?
Mike

A training method for increasing your tolerance for blows; and internal methods would be taught by competent instructors of the internal arts.

Right, so how does that work, and who teaches it?
Mike:confused:

Generally through posture, positioning, and breathing.

But now we’re back to having to assume a posture and readying oneself for an attack. What about when you are unable to prepare to recieve a strike, like being off balance or hit multiple times?
mike

No we’re not. Posture as in correct posture, not as in assuming a static stance and bracing yourself.

and breathing…good breathing is important and should be maintained throughout as much of your day as possible…

As for Shi Xing hao, I don’t know the guy, but I’ve seen and read proiles and demos like said though, while I know he studied under deqian for how ever long that was, I couldn’t honestly tell you that I know for certain he learnt this…glad you’re admiring his “performance” though  …you’re right, he;'s typically good
