rubthebuddha did i tell you th eone about the wc guy who fell on the floor and got mounted by the other guy who didnt really manage to hit him properly , i think ive got a link to it

You can check out Rezra Nasri (WT) vs Brian Johnston, Scott Baker (WC) vs Jason Delucia and Asbel Cancio (WC) vs Dave Benetau. Those are just the WC guys off the top of my head.
sorry ryu i only know that you can find it on the dynamic wing chun video tape by leung ting and th erest of the tape is pathetic. plus many people of WC say that copy is edited and doesnt show th ewhole thing when william cheung got jumped , oh well i dunno.
The whole thing just looks pathetic it lasts about 4 seconds, so its slowed down at 50% speed so it lasts 8 and the commentary is like , he re we see applicationg of lap sau bong sau .
in actual fact you see one guy falling on top of another guy and the other guy trying to hit him end of story…

the clip on emin’s video is just a clip - the parts where emin looks good are on there. i’ve seen the full (at least, i think it was the full) and the clip, and the full doesn’t show any parts where cheung was doing much. it was either draw or emin falling on him.
as far as these clips, i’d like to see them just as much as ryu. anyone know of any?
do WT guys spar? are there competitions? There must be some somewhere if there are competitions. Is MMA events the only compeitions WT practitioners compete in?
“Does anyone here have a link to a video clip where Wing Tsun is used in a real fight?”
OK Ryu whats going on? You started a brawl over the Rich Mooney clips and now you’re starting fights between the WC/VT/WT/ET crowd. Asking a question about WC is like, is like? Well, I don’t know what it’s like but it’s never good!

LOL,
I swear I am innocent in this! I just wanted some clips of respected WT/WC guys because I didn’t think that one clip posted was all that bad
(corny as it was with music, etc)

some sparring, but it’s not usual two people in a mock rink with pads on trying to clock the crap out of each other.
rather, we do A LOT of stuff from lat sau (means unstuck, whereas chi sau would be stuck). it trains us in basic tan/jum/gan/gum/bong/kau/pak reflexes. it starts out very tame and very structured. eventually, it becomes very free. it’s meant to train you for everything leading up to chi sau. everything is thrown in, from elbows, hooks, knees, takedows, groundwork, kicks, uppercuts - everything.
to me, it’s more realistic, because a lot of sparring i did in other styles did the typical boxing format of combo then step back, combo then step back. i never find that too practical, because i’ve been in fights before and never did anything happen that way. a couple strikes were thrown and then we were in close or on the ground a-rasslin’. the realism in punch-and-kick-'em sparring was never really there.
it’s not perfect, but there’s no real way to simulate a fight. you’re either fighting with your bum on the line, or you’re practicing – there’s no happy medium. at least with this training, anything goes. we’re plenty padded of course, and it’s quite controlled, but we don’t throw a couple strikes and back off like so many other styles i’ve done train you to do. as a feeder who’s going at someone, you attack and keep attacking until you’re pretty damn sure that those elbows to the back of your head would have gotten you. and as someone defending yourself, you keep on elbowing them (nicely, of course, if there is a nice way to elbow someone’s head) until you know damn well that you’ve thrown enough elbows.
like i said, it’s not perfect, but it’s one piece in our training that helps prepare us for the hopefully never-to-happen.
Ain’t trolling my grandma’s wrinkly old butt you’re not!
