It looks like we may have lost the thread about getting together for or after the holidays. If you check the calendar you will see that there is a Wing Chun Gathering scheduled for Saturday, January 12th, 2002. I would like to insure that everyone is aware of this date and would also like to confirm with Mun Hung or Mr Lo that Sifu Lees school will be available for this event.
So as it now stands;
There will be a Wing Chun gathering in New York City on January 12, 2002. It will most likely take place late in the afternoon, I believe the school is available after 2PM.
I would like to have an idea of who will be attending, family members are welcome also. I would anticipate this as being an informal get together to meet and work out a short time followed by getting something to eat.
Let me know as soon as possible and I will post any updates once I confirm times and location.
I spoke to Marcus today and confirmed that we would be able to use Sifu Alan Lees school on January 12th, 2002. I will be posting the location and directions closer to the date of the event. I look forward to meeting everyone.
hey mh, mrlo - abstract was asking about possible sifu lee workshop in dec/jan. can you pleaze please give some details? im more interested in the date/time more than anything else. that last meeting was memorable. :o
Sounds good. Jan. 12 will probably be the most logical choice with most weekends at this point being spent on shopping or selling - depending on your occupation. (mine, being retail)
I’ll set up the food arrangements. May I suggest Chinese?
If some of you guys are around a little earlier maybe we can get some dim sum first. (I’m always hungry!) e-mail me.
Bessho - My SiFu is having a workshop on Jan. 13th at 1pm. The cost will be $35 for about 2 hours. Those of you coming into town for the fellowship are welcome to join us. I’ll fill you in on the topics of the workshop at a later date.
So I am to trust you with the food  Considering your distate for the ALL AMERICAN favorite, the venerated Hot Dog this gives me pause
Seriously, all seems to be in place for this to be a successful event. I have also posted it on the WCML as well. I look forward to getting together and meeting some of my fellow Wing Chun family members.

No real count but judging from repsonses on the WCML and here I would say about a dozen so far. Of course how many show up as opposed to how many are interested could be a different number. Some of those replying also stated they might bring others. I will try to get an accurate count after the New Year. I was kind of figuring on trying to get everyones final answer and a committment around January 4th or 5th and work with that number.
Thanks so much for organizing this get together. I really look forward to meeting with you, Fei Hou (Dave?), UniStance, Abstract, Ken and everyone else.
Lets leave our egos at home and gather with open minds in the spirit of friendship. As for using the school, the only thing my SiFu asks is for all to maintain a cordial and friendly tone and we pitch in to clean up and keep the school tidy when we leave.
We have a choice of ordering Dim Sum and everyone can contribute to a food kitty  or we could eat afterwards. I will attend the saturday class so I can’t meet up before hand. I can’t speak for Mun Hung tho.
I am bringing this post up again as the date is approaching. Marcus has raised the question of how to handle the food and I would appreciate some responses. Do we wish to have Dim Sum and each of us contribute a portion to the cost of the food or do we want to go out afterwards to a restaurant and eat there with everyone taking care of their own expenses? If we want to poool our resources then it is only fair to let Marcus know how many will be there beforehand.
So, lets try to get a o**** of how many will be attending and also which option you want to try. Feel free to post here or e-mail me directly. There are also members of the WCML who have expressed an interest in attending as well. This has the potential of being a very successful event. Now we just need to work together to make it happen.
Called Peter and got his answering service left a message.
Right now it looks like we have between 12-15 people saying they will come. I am trying to get a more accurate head count and will let you know when I know more. Still, even a dozen would be a better turn out than the last time. I am looking forward to meeting everyone so I hope more people decide to show up. It is also split up about those wishing to do Dim Sum at the school and those wishing to go out afterwards. Ahh the details that make this sort of thing fun. Anyhow, I am sure that now that the New Year is uppon us and we are less than two weeks away it will get interesting.
