I was in all honesty not trying to make fun, I realy could not figure out if it was supposed to be funny or not. I had never heard fo him and someone sent me a link.
Why is he so controversial? Is it because he claims to be a ninja?

With whom did Ashida Kim train? Hatsumi Sensei?
Ashida Kim studied under a person in Hawai who went by the allias of “shendai”
He is considered the way he is, mainly because people have closed minds and are quick to join in on an attack like school boys surrounding a fight. The fact Ashida is stuck in the 80’s also doesent help

No, actually I think Shendai = a made up but yet “oriental” and therefore “mystical” sounding name used to attempt to fool people into thinking Ashida Kim had a real secret master.

Probably not, as Ashida Kim’s inferiority complex would not see the humour intended in the comment I made, and would lash out. Bit like you just did… 
As for respect - people have to earn my respect. Sometimes all that’s needed is a pleasant word, all is relative. From the comments I’ve read from you on this board, you do have my respect, and so I mean no offence.
The stuff AK has written has not produced similar results. Sorry.

While I do apreciate humour, it really quirks me when people jump on the bandwagaon and throw insults. And that last one was just going a little too far.
