What do you do when people harass you in your car?

First of all ALex Gong was a kockboxer not a kung fu guy. Second of all he provoked it and in a way deserved what he got (for stupidity), he acted worste (more stupid) thatn those guys in the clips posted.

He deserved to be shot for chasing a car that hit his…

It was in San Fran. I thought…

A lot of the kung fu guys here are kockboxers as well.

He punched through the guy’s window. That’s assault right there. The guy probably thought a lunatic half naked with boxing gloves is chasing him and acted as self defense. ALex Gong should have just got the guy’s license plate number and let the authorities take care of it instead of trying to be hero.

This was discussed before. The car was stolen, so the license plate wouldn’t have helped. I don’t want to start the whole discussion again, but if I was standing there and someone hit my car and kept driving only to stop down the road in traffic, I’d be running after them too. Luckily we don’t have the same gun problems in Oz that the Americans have so it wouldn’t be such a risky decision, but in the spur of the moment, I know I’d do the same as Alex Gong did.

I wouldn’t. I’m generally a passive person and forgive/forget easily.

Unfortunately, I’m not. I hope that my MA will teach me to curb my aggression (or my sigung will ;)) but once I get switched on, I stay on.

I ride my bike to uni on a busy road. Every six months or so, I’ll get someone try to stir me up. Often I get people who will shout very loud from the passenger seat of a car as they drive past me. Intentionally, to try to scare me. Very unnerving and almost enough to make me crash my bike sometimes. Once a guy did it, and I caught up with him at a red light a few k’s down the road. I banged on his window and he wound it down. I then proceeded to verbally abuse him until the light changed and his female driver drove off. I was very angry. I think the shouting triggers a flight or fight reaction. Initially I get the flight reaction, which is why I almost crash my bike. That turns to fight when I realise that they’re just trying to annoy me.

Another time, a passenger squirted me with a water pistol as the driver slowed down to match my speed. They were also dangerous driving by straddling lanes and stopping a bus and lots of cars behind them. I tried to catch them at the next lights, but I wasn’t fast enough. I got within 100m or so of them but that was it. There were 4 guys in that car. It was a P-plate car, so the guys were probably 16-18. I wasn’t so angry that I missed them, because it was raining and I had full wet-weather gear on, so the water pistol didn’t really do anything. Just don’t like being “attacked” like that.

Another time I came up on my bike next to the cars at a red light. Like how motorbikes will ride up between all the cars to get to the front, except I did it on the side of the road. When I got to the front, there was a learner driver there. His instructor wound down the window and told me off for riding up next to the cars. We proceeded to get into a verbal argument until the light changed. I worked in the mining industry for 6-7 years, so I know some pretty colourful language, and I used it to great effect. Afterwards, I felt sorry for the student driver :o. He must have felt pretty uncomfortable.

I guess it’s lucky I ride a bike everywhere. I’m an aggressive driver, too. Probably the same sort of arsehole who pissed you off, Iron. I’d never go out of my way to follow someone, though. I’m too focussed on getting where I want to go.

I know I really shouldn’t feed the troll, but it’s just so tempting. The poor thing looks all skin and bones. Probably hasn’t seen sunlight in a few years. It’s like looking at a mangy, wet, toothless old cat trying to gum up an empty tuna fish can.

That’s what I would have guessed if it wasn’t for that Russian tattoos link.
