There is a pic floating around but its actualy on that page you just saw, its actualy his fourth son.
I always find it sad that such a great man led such a hard life.
Still i guess thats why he was so great. He lived in a time of great difficulty and yet still managed to help others no matter how his own life went.

yep, that’s wong fei hung’s son.
the only picture I’ve ever seen of wong fei hung is a drawing. the rest seem to portray his son as him.
don’t know why, misinformation or simple misunderstanding I guess.

It seems strange that so many of his wifes died. Do you think maybe he was involved? He was doctor. Maybe he poisoned them. That crime happens today, maybe he did the same thing.

Although he lived a while ago the chances of him killing his wifes are next to nothing.
For a start he had children with each wife. His first three wifes died of disease. It was pretty well known that Wong wanted to marry. The fact that he married three times simply proves how easily he must have made friends especialy when you take into account that often he was older than his wifes.
Mok Gwai Lan was the last of the four and outlived him by a long shot. By the time these two were married many people thought Wong was bad luck for women. When he married again they all thought she was nuts. Still he went on to teach her the full system of Hung Ga so she did pretty well out of it in the end.

Wong was a very respected man and its these qualitys that are still recognised now. Please dont accuse the dead of things its well out of charactor for them to do.

That’s not really a strong argument against it. I saw something on A&E about people who do that. Some of them had children. It’s a mental sickness. Kind of like the women who have babys then a few weeks or months later the kill them. Then they have another one and a another. I’m not saying he 100% did it, but it is possible. Plus in the old days they really didn’t know much so they would just say it was a illness because they didN7t know anything else to call it.

I dont mean to get snooty about it, just were talking about the modern day father of my style here.
The first three wifes all died from disease it was very common in that time in that part of china.
None of them died suddenly and there was never a hint of suspision around any of the deaths there simply very sad.
All im asking is that you have a little respect for the man, if you want to ask questions like that then do some research first.
Even then be very carefull what you say and to who.
The good things Wong Fai-Hung did are still known well to this day and trying to question his name will do no good to anyone.
Please dont take this as a personal attack. As i say its just becouse he is a VERY respected man. I along with many others still follow his teachings to this day

When you poison someone, it’s over time. The person will feel sick. Over time, it will get worse. He was a doctor. He could say it was an illness. Just because he was famous doesn’t mean that he was inocent.

just for example…they use the other style master as “their” master…like Chen Kwan Tai was a very famous kung fu movie star and was a champions, but he is not hunggar, he is a studnet of monkey king Chan…take a look..

I looked for what you said about this Chen Kwan Tai, but couldn’t find it at Hungga United.
I can’t find any claims of that he’s their master.
Only that Chen Kwan Tai played in some movies with Hung Gar and that he learned some Hung Gar.
Chen Kwan Tai just learned many styles since he was an actor and needed it for his movies. It’s also said he learned Choy Lee Fut.

No, He didn’t. He was basically stricted to Tai Shing Pek Kwar and SiGong Chan Sau Chung. SiGung Chan knows a lot about kung fu. He knows probably twice as much about kung fu than most so-called masters.

they say the reason wong fei hungs wifes died is because he was too powerful a man for them. and his overbearing energy and aura smothered them, i mean imagine your sifu , now imagine how good his sifus sifus sifu was , now imagine wong fei hung who was like 2 time s as good as him at least.

Maybe you’re right.
In a German interview it’s said that Chen learned form Chiu Wai. (article is used as the source for the bio of CW).
It’s not that the website just made it up.
Maybe Chen mainly learned monkey style, assuming we speak about the same person. But for his films he must have learned a little Hung Ga and other styles - since in some movies he shows half or even complete sets of Hung Ga.
Also I remember that all Shaw Brother stars had to learn within the Shaw school, being taught Choy Lee Fut.
Man listen. You don’t know how strict SiGung Chan was. Chan koon tai was his first close door student. In Tai Shing Pek Kwar, we are very strict. Chan Koon Tai’s monkey was good but his Pek Kwar is top-notch. I bet if you saw real Tai Shing Pek Kwar, you would quit your style and learn only TSPK. I saw a TSPK masters demo and I felt bad. They were so DAMN good. I thought I would never reach their level. However, they are such good teachers, I know all I need is time.
So.. what is my point. Maybe(but I think it’s unlikely) Chan Koon Tai learned a few hand positions or stance for a movie, but he would NEVER learn another style.

I remember Chen played in Heroes Two, a movie on one of the Hung Ga legends. (So therefore I asked again.)

The website doesn’t claim him to be a Hung Ga master. He’s just there among the actors that played in movies on Hung Ga legends (just like Fu Cheng and Jet Li).
Besides the website asks for corrections, and no one ever contacted them about this.
