The Real Wong Fei Hong

Hunggar123 Do you train Hung gar in Chicago? Where is the school if you do?

Actually, the hung gar/tai shing connection is closer than you think. Kan Tak Hoi and Lam Jo were good friends at one point.

Peace

Just because two people are friends doesn’t mean their styles are close, combine, or combine in anyway.

For traditional kung fu go to www.taishingpekkwar.com

Assumptions ..
Maybe just bad sources then, as everything on the website is based on interviews or written sources. (In above case even the son of grandmaster Chiu Wai confirmed that his father taught .. - so if that’s not true, forgive me - let’s drop it; it will be removed from the website).
Next to that, big parts, such as the WFH thing, are just translations from Chinese.

Administrator or webmaster or writer..
Maybe all, maybe none of the above.

Anyway I’m glad some people don’t like it. I don’t want the website to be as a “holy book” - as some Americans see it. I’m happy to conclude there are some smart Americans after all.

Lastly: I do know Hung Ga, since my sifu is grandmaster Lam CF.

I like the website…

I think its a great site…
Well designed and presenting many aspects of the system.
I to study Hung Ga and know enough to respect a student of Lam Chun Fai.
Great site dont listen to people just trying to start a war.
Respect

you cant win all the time but you cant always lose either…

I’m not saying that the systems are similar. What i was aluding to was that they both shared their knowledge, and their respective students had the chance to learn the others system.

Peace

Chan Koon Tai is cool

This is off topic but I met the man in Beijing. He was up north helping out on a tv series…something to do with soccer.

Anyway, some friends of mine and I were break dancing and drinking at the bottom hotel dance floor. He was there watching us. We were doing kicks and flips and rolls. His agent invited me over and BAM to my surprise, I said “I KNOW YOU” (alittle drunk) He said who am I? I said “You’re famous, your…your…Chan Koon Tai!” He said you know my movies??? I said OH YEAH! I can quote some of your lines to this day. He said go ahead. I spouted off numerous lines from various movies that I remembered him in. Mostly ones with Gordon Liu, and also stuff from Return of the 5DV or crippled avengers and original Iron Monkey.

He asked me to sit down with him and I explained we just came from training at shaolin temple. It was cool, he was telling me how they did certain things during all his movies. I have used that knowledge in my own experiences making KWOON.TV

Since we were both staying at the Yu Yang Hotel we hung out two nights, it was great. His agent even asked me to be in the series but I had to go home. I wish I could have stayed to be in it but at the time I was expecting my 1st born.

well, just wanted to say that he’s one of my old school idols and he was a cool guy in person.

Peace,

Anyhow, hope you like your new digs. I would have emailed you this but I’m at work and this computer would force me to use Eudora!

Much success to you! Cheers!
