Fire hawk–Thank you very much. I could tell that Sammy Wong is from Chu Gar but i am not sure about other guys, they dont look right and their hand and stances aren’t that good…dont mean to insult them and it’s just my honest opinion!!!
My step brother has been Chu Gar practioner for ten years, his Chu Gar’s really deadly and powerful, i have been researched the Tonglong system for a long time, and i have seen many of them, like Brandon Lai (7 star) , jon Funk(7 star)
Lee kam Wing( 7 Star) and they dont impress me…
Henry Poo Yee is just ok…I 'm still waiting for my next trip to far east continue to sereach the real deal…Chu Gar Tong Long…too bad my step brother is station oversea and i havent seen him much!!!

fire hawk,

do you know any good books on chu gar praying mantis kung fu in public?

Netfist
yip man > leung sheung > ken chung > patrick au > me

Netfist

The only two books that i know of are Phoenix Eye Fist a Shaolin Fighting Art of South China by authors Cheong Cheng Leong and Don F. Draeger. And a second book called The Secrets of Chuka Shaolin Phoenix Eye Fist by authors Cheong Cheng Leong and Mark V. Wiley. The style is called Chuka shaolin and Phoenix Eye Fist,Keep in mind that only half of this style is Chu Gar southern Mantis and is mixed with other styles they say maybe Fukien White Crane or some other southern arts.

fire hawk,

thanks for your reply and i’ve just learned that there’re no chu gar praying mantis school in us,
mostly you would find chow gar instead. it’s very sad to see the great art of chu gar praying mantis disapper! :frowning:

Netfist–you might be right about that currently Chu Gar has been considered an lost art IMHO. There are some other southern praying mantis–chow gar, ox style, jook lam…etc, their origins are the same–Chu Gar Tong Long.
Sifu Gene Chen used to be a Chu Gar Tong Long teacher in San Francisco, my stepbrother had met him many years ago, but he said Gene Chen didnt finish the Chu Gar systhem, maybe that’s why Sifu Gene Chen become a Tai Chi teacher at the Golden Gate park in San Francisco.

Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai

Three Monks, Sam Dot, Lee Siem, Wong created a system called Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai. It was transmitted to Lam Sang See from Lee Siem. This transmittion was complete that is why Lam Sang See and his system is so different from any other Southern Mantis system. None have equaled his feats to this day.
