Rand Paul DESTROYS the Dep Asst Sec of Energy
You know MK, I don’t care what other people do in their houses if it doesn’t affect me. I’m being consistant here.
Actually, you care a whole lot about teenagers having sex in their own houses, as you have stated many times. And you care an awful lot about abortion, which doesn’t affect in you the slightest except by lowering the crime rate in the country.

Just recently you said that the Democrats in Chicago had no right to tell parents that they couldn’t feed their children lunches as they chose, no matter what they chose. But now you’re saying the Democrats can legislate what light bulbs we use, what washing machines we use, what lawn mowers we use, and what toilets we use, in our own homes. I’m not calling you a hypocrite, but why are you not being totally consistant on personal choice here?

Personal choice has limits, as you well know. I can’t feed my daughter rat poison, and people have been prosecuted for killing babies with strict Vegan diets.

Something about “Promoting the general welfare” should ring a bell for you.

No I don’t, and you know that.

I just want those who do do that to take responsibility for it. You create a baby, you take of it yourself. That means don’t murder it and don’t take my tax money to support it.

Don’t stoop this low please. I’m on record as saying I despise homosexuality, but what people do in their own bedrooms is their business. And you know that.
Personal choice has limits, as you well know. I can’t feed my daughter rat poison, and people have been prosecuted for killing babies with strict Vegan diets.
So are you flip-flopping now? I’m honestly confused now.

You said it was your right to feed your kids the food you chose. I agreed. Now you go off some tangent about feeding kids rat poison. You honestly lost me here.

And yes, I’m aware of what it says. However, I don’t think that means we must have the Government choose our light bulbs, our lawn mowers, our toilets, our food, our cars, our washing machines, etc. Where does it stop? We can legislate ANYTHING if we use your standards.

Heck, we could legislate you out of business. Is it “promoting the general welfare” when we have people like you teaching others how to hurt people? Do we really need people walking around who can break other people’s bones and joints and choke them to death? Maybe we need to outlaw Martial Arts schools and force you to get a job that promotes the “general welfare”. And don’t say it promotes a healthy lifestyle, you can ride a bike or go jogging for that. It’s not necessary to have to teach people dangerous things to stay in shape.

Look, am not trying to argue with or defeat you. I’m just trying to point out if you let them take away some rights you don’t care about, they may well one day go after rights you do care about. One day the shoe may be on the other foot. But remember this, I’ll fight just hard to protect your rights as well as mine. Can you say the same thing?
No I don’t, and you know that.
Yes you do. You have stated many times you want abstinence taught in schools (although you yourself was not abstinent) and that you would advise any kid you could to remain abstinent.

So are you flip-flopping now?
Not at all.

You said it was your right to feed your kids the food you chose. I agreed. Now you go off some tangent about feeding kids rat poison. You honestly lost me here.
There are limits to personal freedom. You know that as well as anyone.

Frankly, I’m surprised the industry is as unregulated as it is. Thank the Buddha for the boxing commisson!

LOL. My personal rights are taken away every time I have to use money with or pleadge allegiance to my country using your God’s name.
Yes you do. You have stated many times you want abstinence taught in schools (although you yourself was not abstinent) and that you would advise any kid you could to remain abstinent.
What???

How does that equate to me wanting to legislate what others do in their bedrooms? It’s a red herring. Whats taught and whats banned are two different things. And fyi, I wanted it taught AS WELL as the other things. I’m not happy it’s often excluded. Especially considering abstinence is the only way to prevent pregnancy and venerial disease 100% of the time.
There are limits to personal freedom. You know that as well as anyone.
Agreed.

But we obviously disagree on what those limits are. While I feel Americans have the right to choose our own light bulbs, cars, washing machines, toilets, and food, it appears you do not.
Frankly, I’m surprised the industry is as unregulated as it is. Thank the Buddha for the boxing commisson!
So what if they start regulating it and force you out of business? That’s not fair, and I’d be on your side. It’s sad though that you are selfish and don’t care when the rights we are losing are the ones you don’t care about. It’s like the old saying goes, ‘I may not like what you’re saying, but I’ll fight for the right for you to say it’. Sadly, people don’t think like this anymore. We’ve gotten selfish.
My personal rights are taken away every time I have to use money with or pleadge allegiance to my country using your God’s name.
That’s a huge cop out.

I honestly sometimes wonder if you guys really believe all you type/post, of if you just like to argue with me.

Heck, we just a huge thread/fight about bums begging. Now according to Jamieson, “majority rules”. So what if every American city held elections on that and every city voted to ban begging in public. Would that be the law then? Would you guys who have been defending the bums just say ‘well they can’t beg anymore’ or would you fight that law?

Lets take it a step further; What if Arizonans voted in a law that said they can hang illegal aliens? Would that be the law then? “Majority rules”, right?
You know David, it’s really sad people like you are sheep. Don’t you think we all deserve the right to make basic choices about our personal lives? We aren’t talking about the right to open a shooting range in a neighborhood, or to open a porno store next to a school. We are talking about whether Americans can choose their figgin light bulbs!

Will you please tell me how certain washing machines and toilets are not conducive to a safe society?

Heck, speaking of poison, the new ‘allowed’ bulbs (CFLs) are much more dangerous to humans than the old ones. They just happen to use less energy. The new ones contain mercury, a toxic substance than can be fatal to humans. The old ones didn’t have mercury. The EPA actually has a 3 page dcoument telling us how to safely clean up a CFL broken bulb. We didn’t need to have the EPA tell us how to clean up a broken incandescent bulb.

Actually, I would say it is you who is the sheep here. It’s you who follows the rhetoric not me. Light bulbs. Big fricking deal. the tungsten filaments are wasteful, so they aren’t going to be made anymore. wtf do you care so long as you can read a david duke diatribe by your bedside at 10pm? lol

you don’t care about light bulbs, you care about seeing when it’s dark. It’s a better, more conservationist option to use the ones that are going to be around going forward. I can’t believe you are complaining about SAVING energy and money and that is proven.

Certain washing machine and toilets use to much pre-treated water and are wasteful. Why would you want to PAY more for water you didn’t use? the safety comment was in regards to consumer products taht would be in context. really lame attempt at a twist, but it is to be expected of you at this point seeing as you are clearly incapable of 2 things.

 1. thinking for yourself

 2. common sense

are you fiscally responsible or not? By all indications you would cut your nose off to spite your face you silly person.
at this point seeing as you are clearly incapable of 2 things.

 1. thinking for yourself
Would you please just STFU.

I’m here defending the right to choose, and you’re saying I’m incapable of thinking for myself. If anyone can’t think for themself its you, the guy who says the Government should make all our choices for us.
2. common sense
I’m not the guy who said the Federal Reserve is a private corporation.
Lets take it a step further; What if Arizonans voted in a law that said they can hang illegal aliens? Would that be the law then? “Majority rules”, right?
Well, that’s why we have a Republic and not a Democracy, afterall. It wasn’t so long ago that a handful of states would have opted for that sort of justice.
Well, that’s why we have a Republic and not a Democracy, afterall.
Agreed. I believe I even pointed that out myself.

But it still begs the question, why are some laws passed by the “majority rules” standard ok, while others are not?

And I’m serious here. At least 2 of you are on record saying the Government can ban certain light bulbs, toilets, washing machines, etc, but are not ok with them banning gay marriage. I want one (or both) of you to explain to me the difference.
Agreed. I believe I even pointed that out myself.

Wait. You don’t see a difference in these two?

I find that amusing.
Wait. You don’t see a difference in these two?

1bad is incapable of rational thought actually.

he entered as a troll and has remained a troll to this day!

at least he’s consistent, dumb as a post, but consistent.

now 1bad, STFU and let the big people explain to you how things work. lol
Wait. You don’t see a difference in these two?

I find that amusing.
Of course I see a difference. But I don’t think it’s the Government’s business in any of those things. I’m the consistant one, remember that.

I want someone who sees a difference in terms of which ones should be banned by the Government and which ones should not be banned by the Government. I honestly don’t understand that logic, so I want one of them to explain it to me.
now 1bad, STFU and let the big people explain to you how things work. lol
You’re the genius who told us that the Federal Reserve is a private corporation.

Can you please explain that one to me?

And I’m serious here. At least 2 of you are on record saying the Government can ban certain light bulbs, toilets, washing machines, etc, but are not ok with them banning gay marriage. I want one (or both) of you to explain to me the difference.

It’s quite simple. You can love and talk to whoever you want because it doesn’t affect everyone.

Restrictions are placed on light bulbs, toilets, washing machines, etc, because you are no longer dealing with a personal issue. You’re now doing your part in destroying the Earth that ALL of us live on. This becomes a problem for the world, really, and not just a government.

Sure, you can cite that you should be able to “pursue happiness” with whatever gas guzzling product you want, but at that point you take steps that start to affect everyone.

James, the liberals here say it’s ok to ban certain foods because their bad health effects affect us all. Same with homosexuality, they have a higher rate of HIV/AIDS infections, ie bad health effects. So by THEIR logic the Government can ban that activity.

See how a ‘slippery slope’ works?

Actually, perfectly heterosexual Africans are the biggest victims of HIV. By a mile.

Certain foods have a DIRECT causation on health and a national obesity pandemic. It’s like serving you Type II Diabetes in a styrofoam container. You cannot say the same thing about ****sexuality.
Certain foods have a DIRECT causation on health and a national obesity pandemic. It’s like serving you Type II Diabetes in a styrofoam container. You cannot say the same thing about ****sexuality.
Yes you can.

People who eat garbage food have higher rates of heart disease, diabetes, and obesety than those who dont. People who engage in homosexual activities have a higher rate of being infected with HIV/AIDS than those who dont.

Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.
Yes you can.

The CDC has never collected the infection rates by sexuality. Where are you getting your numbers?

And your logic is flawed. Again, causation is the key here. Correlation does not equal causation. Come on. That’s statistics 101. By your OWN logic, Africans should be banned as well.
By your OWN logic, Africans should be banned as well.
Actually I was clear we are talking about this country.
