NEW Shaolin books by Abbot Shi Yong Xin

Hi all;

The GREAT and accurate series of Shaolin routine books by Abbot Shi Yong Xin, in English and Chinese, are continuing!

The new series is all ancient Shaolin weapon routines features 6 new books:

-() - Fire Staff
-() - 13 spear
-() - Old Dao broadsword

and books on the 3 roads of Meihua - Plum flower Dao broadsword:
.-

Outstanding!

Meihuadao has three roads. I don’t know why I didn’t realize that before, but now, suddenly, some past disparities make sense. Thanks Sal!

Do these show application and strategy as well?

nope, they are for learning the forms correctly.

Will there be more?

There’s a bunch already:

Rou Quan 1
Rou Quan 2
Pao Quan
Luohan Quan 1, 2, 3
Tong bi
Hong Quan 1-3
Xiao Hong Quan

and another 5-6 more

They are documenting all the most important Shaolin sets in Chinese and English with total detail.

The Abbot is getting the local folk Shaolin practitioners together and they all compare how they do the forms and they review what’s correct or not (based on functionality) and then they document it in photos and text.

Altogether they are doing this review for 324 forms.

I just interviewed the Abbot and asked him about these

They’ve already sold out at the source. They’re going into a second printing. More in an upcoming issue.

I already ordered them last week.
Hope I get them!

Looking for a list of all the ones that are out so far.
I think I have them all except these new ones.

Wonder what they are going to release after this batch?
Some qigong ones would be great.

Do you have any direct links?

I’m afraid not…

The Abbot didn’t address that question too deeply. He really just acknowledged my question on these books and mentioned the 2nd printing. I should have phrased that question to be more revealing, but we had more pressing issues to discuss, like Yi Long.

Where are you ordering these from?

On the Hong 1-2, is that the Da Hong from Zhao Kuang Yin’s notes?

There’s one booklet with the definitive Xiao Hong Quan (* not the Lao Xiao Hong Quan, which is longer and more involved).
and
another booklet with the definitive Da Hong Quan with 3 Roads.
