The form is called Erlangquan, though it is probably part of the system of Erlangquan. My version is identical from the turn to the left up to the jump and punch.
The reason I e-mailed you the clip is because I had heard that Erlangquan is an original sect of Shaolin. I wonder if it has similarities to your branch of LohanQuan.
My thoughts are that Mizongquan/YanQingquan, Lohanquan and Erlangquan are very pure Shaolin systems. If they are older Shaolin systems, then there should be similarities. So my theory is that Erlangquan, Mizong and Lohanquan should be very very similar. Thats why I wanted to see if the Erlangquan was close to any of your forms.
You mention Lesser Long Fist. Can you tell me anything about this form ? Which part is similar ? How about the part where you kick and palm together to left side, then jump forward and punch.
Also I read on a site that WuSong Dao was carried through the Erlang Quan system. You had mentioned awhile back about Wusong Dao being introduced to Shaolin by xyz teacher. I wonder what it means.

r,
I suspect you are talking about a short clip that I sent David.
It is the form called Er Lang chuen, not the style.
The opening of the form, before he turns to the left can not be used to identify what form it is.
Only after he has turned to the left.
That first section is repeated in many different longfist forms.
For example;
-hsiao hu yen
-zhong hu yen
-da hu yen
-forms from gong li chuen(the style not the well known Jing Wu form)
-Yen Ching Chuen
-several forms I have seen and didn’t learn or get the names

Tainan Mantis,
I hope you dont mind me sending out the clip you sent me to r. I have a gut feeling that it may be similar to something he practices in his Lohanquan. I would love to see what happens after the jump.
The beginning of the form looks very similar to Yanqingquan and to the Duan Da of GuRuZhang. The hooked hands behind back, kick, elbows together, then shooting hands to the sides…
R. and Tainan Mantis, you both talk about Pan Long Gun. Perhaps you can compare to see if it is the same.

Greetings
I’m a Ying Jow student under sifu leung shum. Part of his beginner curriculum he has taught a “ErLang/Yee Long” set along with a Say Lok (4 & 6) form which he stated came from a system long as the “Long River School/Cheung Gong Pai”.
Was curious if the set you are discussing is similar or the same as the one I learned.
does this sound familiar.
would love to see this clip if it is possible.
thanks
