Hello just interested in finding some info on Buddhism. I have the Dhammapada and really enjoy and feel I already live some of the teachings in it. Just wondering if you guys know any interesting web sites or books that have a more layman approach to it. ![]()
I really enjoy meditation and kung fu and feel that this philsophy could benefit my life greatly.
thanks if applies

Alright

This could help, after you do the test it will show you rankings of how similar your belief is like other religions. After each religion stated i think there is a link explaning more of each religion. If you want to you can dive in and find out about other religions as well as buddhism. This test is so far pretty accurate for me, i am buddhist (not sure of the branch), and in the test it shows me as 100% mahayana buddhist.
I am surprised about how i ranked in Catholicism thought (i go to a catholic school, the ideas are pretty much the same, but the buddhist prayers are much more beautiful, i didn’t think it would rank so low, oh well).
Just sharing my results, when your done share your results, anyone can do this test, just share your results (i am a curious little monkey).

Xebsball,
same as mine for the first two. I actually thought Theraveda would have rated much higher for me as well, (around the 70’s but I forget)

There are so many schools of buddhism…
Any interest in Zen (Chan)?
It’s great, you don’t have to learn anything ;)!

I can’t believe I am more a Hindu than a Roman Catholic, I still attend mass.
I was pleasantly surprised with my Theravada/Mahaya tie though.
I was surprised I was low on the Taoism.
