I guess I should ask this question outside the confines of a thread where people are more intent on arguing that talking about anything.
My question is, are there any specific hand movements done along prescribed pathways, or is it more “free form” than that? For instance, that movement I asked about before is one of 9 specific techniques found in Taiji for energy disruption, and is followed by a strike to Small Intestine 17 at the corner of the jaw. Each of the techniques, though, is done over a specific part of the body, and some of them have a specific hand and direction they are used with. Is the Lin Kong Jing methods like this?
If its the program I saw then it shows how Yogi’s did it with the aid of a fake rope and steel harness worn inside their clothes. My experience wasn’t actually with a yogi but with someone still alive today who will remain nameless and they did it around a friends house. They reached the ceiling in their front room. This person was unaided, and quite naturallyI shi.tted a brick when it happened through the mere bizarre event that it was. It was genuine, not because I want to belive it was but because it ACTUALLY WAS GENUINE.
Repulsive Monkey told that story to get some needed attention. Now that we know his friends are all elite levitators, who while not working the postal truck delivering mail, are levitating in their living room while listening to N’Sync on MTV.
Originally posted by Paul Yogi’s levitating is just another hoax and it has been revealed as such. I saw it on the discovery channel recently.
Well my brother and I saw that too but htey also showed a guy climbing a levitating rope (I missed that part but my brother saw it) and my brother said they couldn’t explain that one.not trying to be a pain but just wanted to trhow that in.
I actualy remember reading/hearing how that was done once! Unfortunately, I don’t remember any specifics. Lot of help I am! You never know when random bits of semingly useless info will suddenly be of use
Anyone ever see that David Blaine street magician special(right before or after he buried himself)? That guy is awesome!
Hell yea. David Blaine is my favorite magician. He doesn’t do that smoke and mirrors BS with a bunch of stage-props. and half naked women. He didn’t exactly have me fooled into thinking he was really levitating but i was pretty awestruck 'cause i couldn’t figure out how it was done, it was in the middle of New York City surrounded by passerby’s with seemingly no wires or ropes. His Street Magic special is a classic in my book if only for the expression on peoples faces.
" i couldn’t figure out how it was done, it was in the middle of New York City surrounded by passerby’s with seemingly no wires or ropes."
Do a quick internet search (Blaine levitation) and you will find out that they did camera editing for that show. He’s a great magician and showman for sure. But you will find out that the scenes of people reacting were legit and came from the street. The one KILLER levitation (about 4-6 inches off the ground) was spliced in.
I really think that if anyone believes in magic, they should study up on the videos out there. There are plenty of videos which will show you how the impossible is actually a trick.
David Copperfield “accidently” said a profound truth on one interview I saw. (Although I think he actually meant to say it because he has contempt for the suckers.) He said, there were many tricks I couldn’t do and then I discovered the technology, I mean, secrets.
As was mentioned above, the Blaine levitation that you saw was an obvious camera trick with wires and a harness.
The lifting he does in front of the people is trivial, anyone can do it. If your audience is standing at the right angle, however, it looks spookily realistic.
You simply stand at 45 degrees facing away from your audience, so that your further leg is partially covered by your nearer leg. Then stand up on your tiptoe, using your further leg. Your nearer leg covers the part of your further foot on the floor, and as they can only see the heel, which doesnt move that much, it looks as if you are floating.
If your audience is at the wrong angle, it is obviously a trick. What they also didnt tell you on the show was that this failed loads of times, and they only broadcast the times that it worked.
I think Blaine’s stuff is actually really easy to work out, once you realise that he uses microphones and accomplices.
Like that one when the person chooses a card, and it comes past, stuck inside the window of a car. How hard is that to work out?
