Hsing Yi

Like I said there is not much good Hsing Yi in London !

Well yep I suppose you’re right!
There are not many good XingYiQuan Instructors in London.
There’s not much bad XingYiQuan either!
In fact it took me a while just to track any down!

An interesting Instructor has got to be Master Paul Whitrod from Chow Gar SPM.
I’ve no details about his experience of XingYi only that it’s mentioned on his web site, but i’m sure if his SPM is anything to go by then it should be pretty good!

Nafanal, i’ll email you privately with the other details.

regards
Colin…

Paul Whitrod

Colin,

Paul Whitrod learned his Hsing Yi from Master Ji Jian Cheng of Zhejiang Province China.

Your dead right his SPM very very good indeed.

Who else do you reccomend in London for Hsing Yi ?

My teacher be pretty good, only he’s buggering off overseas for the next couple of months

Hsing Yi Lndn

NafAnal,

who do you learn Hsing Yi from ?

If you like Hsing Yi, you’ll like Southern Mantis too. I have also heard that Whitrod has a good rep.

MY teacher is actually a natural boxer. His name’s Alex Kozma- don’t know if you’ve heard of him. He advised focussing on one of the three internals at first to learn the body mechanics of the internal. I chose xingyi, but i gather a lot of the two man drills we do are natural boxing influenced.

I’m kinda lookin for another teacher while he’s away to keep my progress goin’ strong. Not sure if he’d mind…

Hi Nafanal,

How about this guy.

Patrick Nagel. Teaches in East Ham, E6.
He does classes in Tai Chi, Bagua & Xing Yi.
I’ve got his phone no. but rather than post it i’ll pm you with it.

Apart from that theres only one other that I know of, and he doesn’t teach publicly.

I’ll be going to see Sifu Nagel hopefully to check out his stuff soon.

regards
Colin…

Alex Kozma

Yup I know of Alex Kozma

read his book? or met/ trained with him?

I think that if u like hsing-i then u will like pakua  just remember that it’s better to find a GREAT teacher in any style, than a so-so teacher in the style that u want to train in!! good luck, I hope u find what u are looking for.

wow, did I just make sense??
