Anything recent that you really liked?
The last one that blew me away was that French film, with the wolf/monster. Obviously Crouching Tiger and even Kung Fu Hustle. Am I missing anything awesome?

have you watched any of the more recent donnie films? flash point, shapolong, etc. pretty good stuff. you would like flash point i think for the end fight, sha po long has a super sick knife vs baton fight in it.

Donnie Yen is the Nicole Kidman of HK cinema.
Dude can’t move his face. Apparently this is not a prerequisite for making The Chun appear effective and stylish.

I enjoyed Red Cliff - it’s in 2 parts. Some great battles and trickery. Zhuge Liang was one clever cat!
Hero was also very good, especially the way the story was told - First the propaganda, then the conspiracy, and then the reality. Another cool aspect is how the fight scenes get less and less fantastical as the reality of the situation unfolds. Interesting use of 5 element Color too.
Try to watch the originals - Red Cliff for sure was edited for the American market. Not sure about Hero.
