He got his master’s in DC, so that or “master’s dc” might make sense. But I think he’s too much of a New Yorker to do that. :stuck_out_tongue:

“likes kung fu more den c**k”
“likes krotty, fux many dead chix”

or maybe he just misspelled “bamf”

lama kungfu modern defense concepts???

uh, that’s an oxymoron. lol

ain’t nothing modern about white crane, lama or hop gar they are all based in “lions roar” apparently which is also known as white crane kungfu and were more chinese than anything, but attributed to a tibetan monk who saw a crane fight an ape or some such tale.

anyway, as far as i know that’s the typical history of yet another kungfu style.

Tibetans don’t actually have kungfu but it became popular amongst the indo-tibetans exposed to hong kong films after the exile into india.

The lamas themselves do an exercise in lamaistic practice where they posture in warrior poses while arguing, but this is not “kungfu” and in fact can’t even remotely be considered combative in anyway. It is a ritual associated with tibetan buddhism.

They do have a form of yoga in lamaism, it is similar to Indian yoga like many qigongs are similar to indian yoga.

But, you won’t find any grandmasters of “tibetan” kungfu who aren’t actually Chinese!

Chan aside, that’s ross’ teacher apparently, there are a couple of other chinese who have written books on kungfu, using chinese arts and weapons and simply calling them “tibetan” as an honorarium of sorts, or something.

anyway, white crane/lions roar kungfu is said to go back to the qing dynasty and was practiced by the imperial guard (again, these were chinese guards, not tibetan ones).

I understand there is some effective stuff in it, but then we’ve seen that white crane master vs the wu tai chi guy clip haven’t we? lol

tibetans doing kungfu, Ha!

a 400 year old style and it’s stylist claiming to be “modern in concepts”??

what is modern about it dave? the sportive aspect of using san shou?(also chinese) or do you teach a firearms course along with your sportive stuff? enquiring minds must know!
