Mesh refined thinking with movement.
What are your answers on your initial questions Phoenix?
training SNT lets one cultivate the movements, jings, structure or whatever… provided that one lets go of all worries, ignoring all distractions. The effortless power arises only when the mind is calm, IMHO.
I sense a Tao quote coming.
Does a bird need to ask an elephant how to fly and then tell the elephant his answer is wrong? Such is the way of Tao.

LOL, this isn’t the day for elephant stories. Stick to the facts - no matter how many SLT stories…the art of WCK is more than SLT…with Chum Kiu and Biu Jee in your WCK…you can’t go wrong.

IMHO,
ALL what I come through always have a Process. such as level one attainment, level two attainment…
Mind/ BOdy/ Breathing cannot be just “relax” and that’s it. There are steps…on how to implement the goal…
Words of wisdom in Dao De Ching or other classical doesn’t mean a thing without the specific cultivation technics. Have you seen those Taijiguy doing reel silk? in the real life do you think that work? IMHO, those are just the begining… that is not the full story.

Eagle is not chicken. All Eagle can fly as soon as they know they are not chicken and know how to use thier WINGs.
The WAY to find one’s Wings is Dao of WINGS. The Way to always delude oneself and others that one is a Chicken is the Dao of delution.

I never like grading myself and I doubt all MA masters went through structured level systems. When I think of levels and gradings I tend to think of Karate, TKD. Still this could help people define their expectations and goals. If the attainment levels are not artificially defined then it is okay by me. For us achieving Tan-Bong is the first goal, Fook comes after. It is like you can either do it or you can’t, not much in between grounds; nor can someone just tell you that you’re okay. Afterall attaining Tan-Bong is a beginning, the sky become clear afterwards and there are more awaiting.

care to drop down some more details? ![]()

I am not too familiar with silk reeling, but Chen TC classics do get into details of every single Chi meridian. They spend volumes to talk about silk reeling but without the actual training it is hard for people to grasp. Yang/Wu TC don’t seem to talk about silk reeling at all yet they are supposed to have come from Chen TC.

It isn’t the level of grading.
This level is not that level. ![]()
The Chinese classic said that " the clear one (who is clear with what his is doing ) shows a hand, one will right away know whether he/she has it or not."
" has it or not " " what is the level of fine touch" That is the level of attainment.

Yang/Wu TC don’t seem to talk about silk reeling because thier silk reeling circle is very small. almost instantaneously accepting is issuing… there are records available on those stuffs but only to a limited people… when accepting and issuing become one. One looks like just standing there and not moving much…
Those large silk reeling is great but too slow in responding…
but then you are right. before one can unify, Mind/ body/ qi to a certain degree. Then, it is difficult to grasp. and that certain degree is about level not about how many moves one knows…
one can continous to reel, but if one doesn’t understand the "Yee issuing " after the unify of MInd/Body/Qi . even practicing for 100 years one will not get one there.
Thus I have heard.
