.Greetings to all…I am beginning this open topic with a biggie. The issue of The spelling of our system is crucial in some conversations. In some family systems it is spelled as Ving Tsun (VT), WC, VC, and even as WT. Why and what… is their any difference (outside of who is teaching it and their affiliation.
Please help and answer this for me if anyone here can do so.

To a native Cantonese speaker the characters for WC,VT, WT will be pronounced ‘Wing Chun’. HK was once a British colony and the letters WC can mean ‘water closet’ (toilet) to Brits. The WC people in HK didn’t want the initials WC to be associated with Wing Chun so someone came up with another Romanization. It became Ving Tsun (VT) in HK.
WT, Wing Tsun is used by Leung Ting’s organization. But like I said earlier. In Chinese it is Wing Chun in Cantonese and Yong Chun in Mandarin.
