Updates to the website: Four new videos. Two of Merryprankster mauling some poor sods and two of my eskrima test (which is, granted, 10 years ago, but I haven’t filmed anything lately, so live with it.)

I enjoyed watching the clips. Question - in the second Escrima clip, was that knife-fighting or mostly bare-hand? Your friend sure likes those high kicks.

Hey Ap, you don’t look so bad, atleast on the second half of that first video it looks like you are holding your own. The short guy looks pretty squared away though, I think he might give most people a run for their money.
The second clip was strictly empty hand. Oddly, we didn’t do any knife sparring at the test. (I was just noticing that myself when we were transferring these clips to digital.) We did do freestyle abecedario-type drills (empty hand vs. knife), which I’ll be posting later.
Yep. Marty was a good kicker. Oddly, his background was mostly eskrima and aikido. But the school itself taught taekwondo and eskrima. So there were a lot of students who trained in both. We sparred with students from both programs during the test. In later clips, you’ll see guys wearing the taekwondo dobok instead of the uniform I’m wearing there.
Makes me groan to see the backfists and wotnot I was throwing there. But in my defense (read: excuse), that was after an hour and a half of other test stuff. Still, it’s frustrating that physically, I was in relatively good condition. But tactically… aw man!

Yeah, Marty’s no slouch. I haven’t got a problem with getting schooled by him. 
i only saw one clip with the escrimas. looked pretty cool.

You’re only the tall, lanky guy for the most part? When are you the other guy?
Nice takedowns there Ap. I particularly liked the scissor takedown you pulled off about 2/3 of the way thru clip 2. Your opponent looked very confident and relaxed.

Thanks Joedoe. I was pretty pleased with those myself.
Marty is what I’d consider a natural. I mean, he worked very hard at it. Not trying to take anything away from him. But you’re right. He was always so **** comfortable.

Question for MP: In the shorter clip, was that a uchi mada you were trying before the single leg? If so, was that a planned combo/fake or did you just feel the single their after you didn’t get the first attempt?
