Tai mantis is very similiar to 7 star mantis. There are two differences. One is that the movements in tai mantis are more broken and not connected like 7 star. The other is that tai mantis uses more hops rather than the crushing steps used in 7 star praying mantis.

There ia a system out now also called “Tai Kung Fu” as opposed to “Tai Chi”. Is there a “Tai Mantis” now also along the same lines? Or were you refering to Tai Chi Mantis?? If it was the latter, I have seen it performed at the Jade Mountain Tournament last year & I thought it looked remarkably like 7* as well. Very hard hitting stuff.
