Hey all
Any info on Shaolin Internal martial arts? I dont know the first thing about any of them! Let me know, thanks!
You can start with some videos…
I meant shaolin internal MA (martail arts) not qigong.
like one finger zen or whatever it is, and anything else?
oh, gotcha…
Off hand, we ran a good article two part on internal training for martial arts by Shaolin Monk Shi Guolin this year - it was in our MAR APR 2003 and MAY JUN 2003. Check those out. ![]()
Internal martial arts not internal training for martial arts!
Does Shaolin have any?
What is two finger zen/chan?
Do they have internal forms?
Are you asking about taiji, etc?
Taiji is taoist
Shaolin OG original Shaolin internal martial arts, if there is anything like taiji, yes. Any ?
Shaolin Taiji is an adopted thing, from chen stylests I believe…
one finger zen? Sounds like you have been reading wong kiew kit ![]()
shaolin has the “rou quan” which is an internal form - some say what chen taijiquan is based on but there is no proof of that.
I think they also do xinyi and bagua there too (Gene?) but not sure if its wushu standardized forms or not…

Is the one finger chan thing where that monk used to do one finger hand stands…
The late GM Chee Kim Thong used to teach what he called Shaolin Tai Chi - Wu Ji Quan. It was practiced slowly like Tai Chi but looked slightly different (mind you I am no expert on Tai Chi).
