Shaolin Diamond Fist(this looks alot like TAICHI) wanna see

Its translated as Jin-Gong, this appears to look somewhat like Chen style. I always new Shaolin to be both internal and external, but from may understanding mostly the Shaolin descendant kungfu styles( kungfus made outside the temple) are more on the external level, like Choy li Fut, and Eagle. Does anyone know if Chen Wan Ting may of added Diamond fist in making Chen Style Taiji

It goes to show that no kung fu style is too external or internal

So does this mean this since it has some simliar looking moves to taiji, it’s all of a sudden internal?

Kumkuat.

No it doesn’t mean that.

OTOH, Shaolin has internal styles as well.

Chen Village had influences from Shaolin and their Cannon pounding came from Shaolin as well as elements of Shaolin Red Fist were incorporated into their Styles.

I think one of the elder of the Chen Village studied MA at the Temple and brought those skills back.

Shaolin Red Fist is said to be one of those internal styles.

But it all depends on whose Chen Tai Chi History you read.

Peace.

Maybe it’s the quality of the movement and not the moves
themselves that make it “internal” whatever that mean…

on Diamond Fist

from the little I know about it, it was mad for the senior monks of Shaolin to increase qi and longivety so maybe it is an “internal art”

If you ask me I dont think there is any such thing as Internal or External, only correct and incorrect depending on purpose.

I never said it was internal just because of the similarities. Many times I have seen people just jump into the other side of the spectrum because they don’t want to be associated with the other side. My main point is that no kung fu style is 100% internal or external.

When you fight you can’t be completely soft or you won’t be able to make any damage.

The same hoes with external styles. If you’re so tense how will you be able to genereate power?

Think about it.
