I’ve got a friend who lives near philly. He’d like to get involved in some sort of martial competition, and he’s way too far south to train at my gym. Not a big fan of grappling, although he appreciates it’s uses, and he likes to kick. Ex-Marine, in good shape, but no real formal fight training. It sounds like San Shou might be a decent fit for him. Can any of the San Shou notables around here direct me to a gym in the Philly area?

I do not really know of any in Philadelphia, I know the Sun brothers have a school in Wilkes Barre (sp?) in PA but I have no idea even where that is

If your friend isn’t dead-set on kicking, there’s several excellent boxing gyms in the city.

If it makes you feel any better, he actually lives in Maple Shade, in New Jersey. He’s just really /close/ to Philly
There’s a good Wing Chun instructor in Cherry Hill. For boxing, there’s a big gym in South Philly on 8th street, I believe. It has a big painting of Rocky on the outside.
