Why is it so hard for people to understand that it’s the end of a cycle, nothing more. Anyone who bothers to take ten minutes to read about the truth of the Mayan calender will see very quickly that in no way shape or form does anything related to the Mayan calender relate to the end of the world.
I’ve been to the Museo Nacional de Antropologia in Mexico City and seen the one they have there. It’s truly awesome. A huge slab of intricately carved stone. Like so many great works of art, there’s nothing like the feeling of standing before it. It’s massive. That being said, I think they just ran out of stone.
But no worries. We TCMA people here will be prepared for the zombie apocalypse. After all, everyone knows you can’t grapple with zombies. They bite. The best counter for zombies? You know it.

I am sure the Spanish had a little something to do with the calender not being continued
“The newspaper published a confidential document dated December 30, 2011 which was apparently sent by retired Colombian cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos to the Vatican warning of unspecified plans to kill the pope.”
