anyone ever think about making your own martial arts, and what would you name it?
Total Grand Ultimate Undefeatable Style.
Should rake in a few $$$'s.
I got 2 styles:
Who gives a dammn.
Shut up and train.

How about:
Sho Mi Di Ma Nee Quan
wow
everyones so obsessed with money right now. sheesh i was hoping of hearing cool names like
sky dragon twisting style
or some cool chinese euphamism for power…
Of course MA are obsessed with money, Dojo space and they like don’t come for free.
As for cool sounding names, I leave those to the McDojo’s

OK, if I were to name a style of kung fu that I developed, it would be Fat Bastard Quan ![]()
Edit: Thanks for pointing that out Serp. ![]()
Take it from me, that censored word is bastard.

Naturalist´s nutcracker.
Here in Croatia this one guy merged karate with tae-kwon-do, named it ka-te-do (!) and now he sells it as an ‘authentic Croatian martial art’ or something like that.
This other guy teaches kuk sool won, but recently he invented something he calls “instinctive streetfighting” and he wants to register/patent the name.
Truth is truly stranger than fiction.
Bet that Serpent’s ‘Total Grand Ultimate Undefeatable Style’ doesn’t sound too bad now, does it? ![]()
quiet man
Care to tell me what Croatian martial arts there are,in case there are any?
Thanks.
Former castleva, nice of you to show interest ![]()
Actually, there are no real McCoy Croatian martial arts (save for very sad “examples” I listed above).
There’s one “style” inherent to all Croats however: its techniques include, but aren’t limited to headbutts, kicking in the private parts, scratching, pinching and spitting, headlocks, and usage of weapons such as broken bottles, stones and sharp rusty forks and spoons
.
What about Suomi?
I used to think Suomi´s
martial culture is about as interesting (or dull) as culture in general, despite considerable succes in warfare.
Well I know there is an old military martial art of kas-pin (taught as civilian self-defense these days I think, extremely limited of a fame I think) As far as I know,it´s pretty much straightforward killing techniques (for wartimes it was) some influence from oriental arts, plenty of traditional, local weapon work ranging as far as spears and all.
I do not know if there have been some other “styles”,but I doubt there is documented information.

I believe this folkstyle´s geographical range reaches Finland.
The most widespread native MA in the former Jugoslavia is AK-47-Jutsu
Is’nt that true, quiet man?![]()
PS: the war down there is pretty much over, right? ![]()
So what about Danish arts..?

You barbarians! We have a similar style in the UK, but at least we clean our spoons first.
They are wooden though!![]()

Why wooden?
(the only?) good thing from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves:
“Because it hurts more, you idiot!”
As for names, I’m with Buttscudo if the Gracies aren’t already using it.
Also try:
Grand Ultimate Nut-Crunch
Gi wi li bi (Grab-it-wrench-it-lock-it-break-it) Kwan
Yo-Momma-Do
And I thought UK had an art or two in it´s recorded history.

Unfortunately, you’re absolutely right, my ven(inde) from Danmark ;).
PS: Yes, the wars are over, for quite some time now.
Why? Are you thinking of visiting turistically?
