Ever since our catastrophic crash back in January, I’ve been telling you all that our relaunch is coming. It’s been a lot of work but we’re beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel.
Part of this relaunch is that we’re switching our forum server here. We’ve been with vBulletin here for years but we’re migrating to a more secure forum. When this happens, you will have to change your password to your forum account. vBulletin has no requirements for passwords, but our new platform will require a password that’s more bulletproof - you know, with numbers and symbols and such. This might happen very soon. Our forum will be offline for a week or so, and then you’ll need to update your password.
When we had our catastrophic crash back in January, our forum went down too. We relaunched it with the newest version of vBulletin and it ran like always for a while until it was raided by Temu spambots that were extremely difficult to remove. Consequently, with the complete restructuring of KungFuMagazine.com, we decided to move away from vBulletin to this stronger platform.
I’ve been working with this new forum for about a month now. It has a lot more functions, but there is a learning curve. Hopefully, you can all adjust.
This is phase 1 of a 3 phase plan. Phase 2 is imminent. Stay tuned…
Welcome back. Had to look for you all after a month of the kungfumagazine.net site missing. Perhaps you should send emails to those too lazy to search you out…
There was a reroute from KungFuMagazine.net to its old KungFuMagazine.com. It’s all still in process. Still learning how this new forum functions. We’ve been announcing on our socials.
I think there’s something funky going on with the purchase page—I just went to subscribe and appeared to “purchase” a subscription with the “test card”…. I haven’t used google pay before, but I don’t think it’s me
I’ll be happy to resubscribe and pay with a real credit card when that’s cleared up. If somehow it was my mistake, I’m very sorry for any inconvenience…. And good luck with the relaunch!
I stopped by Tiger Claw yesterday to get an update on the progress of our KungFuMagazine.com website relaunch & the print edition of Kung Fu Tai Chi. Both are progressing nicely.
The sample print issue looks good overall. The color was a tad too magenta making it lean too much to a cool cyan, so we’ve asked to get that reset (getting the color settings correct is always a challenge because moving from projected light (RGB) to reflected (CMYK) has some translation error. Also, we lightened to paper grade stock to bring the shipping price down.
The new issue is at print now. The new website is running its final stress tests this week.
THE NEW ISSUE IS IN! Our apologies for the delay. A color correction caused an excessive delay, and then the shipment was lost. No one said the return of Kung Fu Tai Chi in print was going to be easy. To everyone who has waited patiently for their issue, they are being sent out today. You have our gratitude. When you receive it, please share it with your friends and on your socials. We’re grateful for your continued support.
Note that only 75% of the lost shipment has been recovered so only a few more copies remain. Get yours now before they’re sold out.
If they can recover the lost parcel, there’s no insurance for the delay. If it is truly lost, then we’ll get some compensation. I haven’t heard if it was found or not yet.
I did hear that there was a rush of orders when I shared the announcement above on our socials, and I haven’t heard that we’ve sold out yet. Without that last parcel, we were very close. If the parcel makes it, then we’ll have a little more breathing room.
