Just a stupid story for the fun of it, i have pleanty of my sifu but ill start with one that involves both of us.
I had been teaching along with my sifu in a PCYC in Parramatta which is an area in Western Sydney. One of the students had come along with friends of his and they where not exactly the most friendly looking bunch in the world. They where pretty obviously try hard gangsters and where all asian, fairly well built with the usual gang style trappings.
My sifu spoke to them in canto for a while (proberly trying to suss out exactly why my class mate had brought them) and then eventualy brought one of the larger ones over to me.
He told me that the guy wanted to spar and get a feel for the kung fu we where doing.
I looked into my sifus face in slight disbelief that he was actualy trying to get me to challenge match with some weird triad looking guy. Still i spoke to the bloke for a few mintues and he actualy seemed pretty nice and didnt seem like he was really there to cause trouble so much as find out what his friend was into.
On with the matchā¦
I started out with a relaxed but tight gaurd and started to pep the guy with a couple of jabs and basic boxing punches. The guy was obviously not really much of a fighter and i was hitting him easily. I started to drop my gaurd down to my waist and try to encourage him to strike as he was clearly overly tence and basicaly scared. I tried to use just slipping and dodging and allow him to fire off a few punches, i was not attacking with any real power but instead was basicaly just tagging him. During one exchange i tagged him lightly on the chest and he yelped like a puppy and winced in pain. I asked him what the matter was and he pulled up his shirt revealing a very red and sore looking peirced nipple. I appologised for striking him there and said i would take more care.
He then seemed to get a bit frustrated and started trying to take my head off. Yet he still had really no idea what he was doing and was throwing wild haymakers and lurching all over the place.
I kept my gaurd at my waist and continued to slip then tag him although now with a little more force and more towards his head.
Finaly he threw a horrible looking right cross which i slipped out the way of then he promptly screamed dropped to one knee and lost all colour in his face.
This freaked me right out and i stopped immediately and asked him what the hell had just happened. His sholder was slumped to one side and he had gone compleately white.
My sifu runs over and begins talking to him in chinese and feeling his sholder. By now ive realised the guy has just dislocated his sholder by hitting thin air and am trying my hardest to look concerned whilst trying to figure out exactly what the heck had happened.
Anyway my sifu takes the guyās arm and begins to slowly move it around in circles then all of a sudden he shoves the sholder back up into the socket( I have seen him do this trick three times now). The guy yelps again and then sits down to get his breath. He continues to talk to sifu for a while and get his bearings and then eventualy comes over to me and sayās his goodbyes and leaves.
So yeah i guess the moral of this story is that not everyone who looks hard actualy is.
PS that was funny, Kung Lek just snapped ![]()
lol ![]()
That reaction was so above me. hee hee.
we now return to our regular programming.
All Wen did was post about me and Kung Lek got rude!
no, kunglek called a spade a spade.
you donāt like it? put a leash on your dogs. like wen and xlw and any other little anon little douchebag you have spouting crap all over the place.
my rudeness is only a reflection. I am merely returning to you and yours that which I reject as you hand me.
get that into you.
as for ruining this thread, please feel free to wade passed these niceities.
Why donāt you guys just fight and get it out of your system?
Wait, one of you are a lady though, right? Kung, why are you speaking to a woman this way and letting her get under your skin?
If you have skill who cares what these people think? And if they really are pushing your buttons and you have skill, well, you can close a school down Iām sure by kicking the leader right in front of all his paying customers.
Of course this goes just as well for the other side ⦠THEN weāll have a story worth posting about. Up till now sounds like talk.
When I was in 3rd grade, I was the smallest person in the entire grade, and one of the smallest in the school. One morning I was walking into the entrance of the side stairwell to go to class and 3 2nd graders stopped me and told me to give them my money and my football cards (I had them in my left hand) or thier one friend that knows Karate would beat me up. I didnāt know any martial arts back then. Kung Fu, Krotty, Taekwondo, it was all the same.
The karate kid started doing some part of a kata and throwing punches with ākia!!ā, then took a stance in front of me like he was ready to fight.
So I hit him in the head with my lunch box, hit one of his other friends in the head with my lunch box and went to class. They never bothered me again. The end.
The following story is what I overheard someone say, I was not there so is unsubstantiated.
In 1990 or so Sifu Tat Mau Wong held is 4 star championship tournament. Many of the top and most well known Sifu in the U.S. were present for a meeting amongst them on how to rule and judge the fighting divisions. A formal san shou format had not been adopted yet, nor did they want to use the kuoshu lei tai rules verbatum either.
There was one well known 7 star mantis sifu there at the meeting, talking above everyone else and constantly pounding on the meeting table, trying to impose his views on the others. After all the pounding and loud talking, a hung fut sifu pounded the table hard one time himself and yelled across the table at the 7 star sifu, " IF YOU POUND ON THE TABLE ONE MORE TIME, IāM GONNA BEAT THE SH#! OUT OF YOU!!"
The mantis sifu jumped up waving his hands and saying he wonāt hit the table anymore, and pretty much remained quiet the rest of the meeting.

The summer of '93 or '94 (I donāt remember which exactly). Our school went to support and participate at Sifu Lee Koon Hungās school grand opening in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Till this date it is probably the biggesst Kung Fu event I have ever witnessed outside of a tournament. There were several Choy Lay Fut schools there, My sifuās school (Hung Fut), Jook Lum mantis, Wah Lum mantis, Tai Ji schools, Sifu Arthur Lee and Harland Leeās Fut Ga, and several other schools and loads of other sifu there.
The crowd was so big that all the demonstrations had to be moved to the parking lot. Most every school had students demonstrating some forms, then finally some sifu started demonstrating. At one point my sifu was coerced into demonstrating although he at first did not want to. My sifu was friends with sifu Lee Koon Hung in Hong Kong, before either of them emigrated to the U.S. All of us (his students) were stunned when our sifu started demonstrating pieces of one of Hung Futās rarest forms, four crippled style.
I was standing next to an older classmate of mine, Doug. When our sifu started his demo, he started as if he was going to do some tai chi. A gallery of sifu started yelling things, then our sifu smiled and pointed as if to say āgotchaā. There was no way they were gonna let him get bye with some tai chi. So he began his form. It started similar to some of our regular forms, bow, a little dynamic tension, a few punches. Then one of his shoulders dropped really hard then he started freaking out like someone having convulsions while standing, at one point his eyes rolled up into his head, all the while making sudden jerking movements. Some of the sifu in the galley started hooting again yelling āho!ā and āHo yeh!ā. I didnāt know what they where saying, and I didnāt and still donāt even know what I was looking at.
At one point a guy ran up to my classmate Doug and started frantically asking him, āis he okay?! does he need help?! Iām a trained paramedic!ā Doug grabbed him and explained to him that it was all on purpose, that our sifu was doing techniques from the 4 cripples of which included hunchback, blind, and palsied. And sure enough a moment later he āsnappedā out of it and finished as he had started. It was the only time, I beleive, that our sifu had demonstrated the cripples since being in the U.S. I think it showed how much he respected Sifu Lee Koon Hung.
like, thatās just your opinion⦠manā¦

lebowski: āwhat the **** you talkin about?ā
whewā¦
Why donāt you guys just fight and get it out of your system?
Iād be happy to make their little troll bums smart so they couldnāt sit, but they really are a gutless lot, hopping around doing keyboard warrior nonsense everywhere they can.
In fact, I believe it was their little buddy xlw who began it all by making disparaging remarks about wether or not my former sifu learned north shaolin or was fake.
As far as I know, it comes from Master Ma in Calgary during the 80ās. Not being so concerned with that and rather choosing to just learn the kungfu, i accept that. Ultimately, I believe the sifu Ma in question is Sifu Ma Ching Fung, who is recognized widely as yet another in the family of North Shaolin Kungfu. He is of passed away now, but I understand his son continues the traditional teaching in Vancouver Canada.
Having said all that, I would add, that is is these folks who fired the first shot and I aināt no buddha, so fuck em. If they wanna be punks, act like punks and ultimately reflect that back on their school and teachers, then thatās too bad. A school full of ingrates and idiots like this would make for a hilarious tv show though, I gotta say.
Notice how indignant they all were when they had to eat the pie they made. wads! lol

And what Pie would that be? Iām really quite interested in knowing what āPieā youāre saying we all ate? I just think youāre trying to start shit againā¦and if soā¦youāre seriously just showing how much of a fukwit you are.

Ho Yeh !!!
Bother number 9, Iām from the netherlands and I believe I actually saw that crippled style demonstration on video some 10? years ago (Vividly remember the tai chi start ;-). I didnāt know what to think of it, but my Sifu said it was good kung fu! Was it a demonstration which also had southern praying mantis performed?
Iāve seen a lot of videoās but this crippled style demonstration I really remember because of itās quality
Regards, Lau
Yes, Sifu Henry Poo Yee was there and performed southern mantis (Jook Lum). It was the first time I had ever seen southern mantis, I was such a noob back then, I thought it looked weird, and couldnāt see how it could be fight effective. However after some tournaments and meetings with som SPM players and a visit in which I accompanied my sifu to sifu Yeeās school, I now have a deep respect for SPM and other hakka arts and their fighting capabilities.
There were tons of demonstrations that day at sifu Lee Koon Hungās school, many of the top students of some of the top sifu in the U.S. were there and demonstrated. I remember seeing John Wai, Daniel Tomazaki, Jeff Wong, Tracey Flemming, Tu Truong, Harlan Lee, Hung Stewart, Linh Thai, and so many others that I never got a chance to know their names but gave great demonstrations many of whom are sifu now in their own right. Then afterwards there was a big picnic. It was probably the best time Iāve ever had at a ākung fuā related event.
Bro#9
Those are great stories! Any more?
