I need some info on the following masters of Jow Ga. Any info, on any one of these masters would be cool. Its for a project I am doing so if you can help, please point me to any site with info, regardless of how important it may seem.

The Zhou and Chow families have exactly the same Chinese ideogram for their name - there is no distinguishing in written form, only in pronounciation. Using a ‘J’ for ‘Jow’ serves to distinguish one style from another in the English language.
i noticed somehting like that when I googled one of those names and came to a polish chow gar site. I suppose its just the romanisation that is different right?
any info on those specific masters? thanks for the info you guys gave me.
zhou is Mandarin and Chow or Jow is Cantonese for the same name. In the US Chow Gar is generally spelt Jow Ga, but it is the same style, just different romanisation of the name.
I know zhou is the same name for jow, I just thought Chow might refer to a different style. strange romanisation really.

Why strange? “chow” is how it is pronounced in HK… actually the name is pronounced somewhere between the “ch” and “j” sounds. Cantonese romanised spelling is just phonetic anyway.
Just to add trivia, since there is no standardized romanization you can get all kinds of funky phonetics. Like my last name. I have relatives that are:
Chew, Chiu, Chu, Jew, Ju, Jue.
Basically whatever the guy at Angel or Ellis island thought he heard. Then you add British spelling and Singlish plus different dialects and you can see why many people ask for the Chinese character (which is consistent across dialects) to know what you are talking about.
Actually, if you go for PinYin which maps most characters, you can get pretty close to the real meaning. Thus Zhou1 Jia1 is the best to get to the actual meaning but even that could still be 6 for Zhou1 and 9 for Jia1.
ok ladies thanks for the chinese lesson, but I actually needed info on those masters I mentioned. I was slightly confused with the chow gar someone mentioned southern mantis, so appologies for that.
My friend’s name is Keung Kwok Ping , a Jow Ga (chow, zhou,chuo whatever) practitioner, and I am trying to help him set up a school down here and trying to promote chinese martial arts in general. He has given me info, but I am looking for some more detail, if you can help me, please do so.
I love chinese martial arts, Im a Choy Lay Fut player myself, and all I am interested in is see the CMA community in my country, grow.

my dad was actually a springbok rugby player in the 60s, so when we grew up, we were forced to go to bath, get dressed and go to all the rugby games he played at on weekends. Were never allowed to watch tv, only rugby everyday, all day. By the time I turned 8, I was sick and tired of rugby 
. I know the cats is opur local Joburg team, but other that that Im not to sure about the other team 
, but if they are an Auzie team, Im sure the joburg boys will kick their azzzzes
