hi yik.
could u please keep what ever it is u and extraj have going to one thread … rather than disrupting and flooding the whole forum..
if u would consider this, then much appreciated.
thanks
5thBro.
Let’s talk about Jeong Yim for a change. ![]()
Does anyone know how tall he was?
no one really knows
that was the more important questions in the beginning of my research. was he strong, short, built.
By the way, I’m missing one (or two) word(s) in Jeong Yim’s couplet.
Ying Cheung Fei <?> Lung Daat(?) Mei
Hung Kuen Fung Cheut Fu Ngong Tau
Does anyone have the corresponding word(s) that would fit in?
Thanks.
Frank’s school even pinched Chan Heung’s “ying hung” (hero) couplet and say it was Jeong Yim’s, how ridiculous, yet the mis-information gets passed on and on …
Anyone who can read Chinese knows the “Hung” character in this couplet is not the same as Jeong Yim’s Hung Sing “Hung” (Glorious Victory). It was originally used in the “Heroic Victory” Hung Sing schools and later adopted by everyone.
I can only throw up my hands in the air…
Sho,
The Cantonese way of saying the first line goes something like this:
Ying Gwun Fei Tung Lung Bei Mei.
Not Ying Cheung (spear), it is Ying Gwun (staff).
Hope this helps.
Joseph.
Oops! Dammit, I always erroneously read the staff character as spear. Thanks, Joe. So the couplet is actually Chan Heung’s creation. Hmm, because somehow I also had the impression that it was Jeong Yim’s. I don’t know much about the Hung Sing branch so could someone explain to me how the Hung Sing people claim this couplet to be a unique trademark of their lineage. I’m not taking any sides in this dispute. I just want to know more about the Hung Sing lineage.
Peace.
i love you joe
so big brother joe,
are you saying my sifu pinched a couplet from your chan family? well, sorry buddy, but that couplet was handed down to us thru professor lau bun prior to 1939. we have it on our wall in his own writing. so you must be saying lau bun pinched it, vince and dave lacey pinched it, kwan mun keng pinched it, all buk sing and hung sing kwoons around the world pinched it, lee koon hung pinched it. wow did they get theirs from us after we pinched it?
i could have sworn that all buk sing and hung sing kwoons use this couplet. this is just another way of the chan clan trying to hog all the glory. then you try to say tham lup is a chan family member and not hung sing. joseph, then chan version of the history is so full of sheet! and so are you who only recites things from what he collects. you must not know any elders for you not to believe elders that actually live thru the proliferation of clf. who do the cops believe, eye witnesses. your records are only heresay, and forged. there are 2 of the 3 branches of jeong yims choy lee fut that agree on the creation of choy lee fut and the only outsider is the chan family with their lonely story.
watch, the truth will come forth. and the chan family will go running to hid. you knoose was admitting ching cho existed. it was more like your nail in the coffin.
once again joseph, you will only impress the fools on this forum. never the true jeong yim lineage holders. so you are only wasting your breath when trying to convince us. you can and never will do this. like it or not, the history is being told and more and more are turning to fut san hung sing as the true birthplace of choy lee fut.
that guy you mentioned, you asked for proof, there it is. why not go and dispute him directly and bring that dispute onto this forum so we can see you get your ass whipped publicly. you can only tear down the history while we build it.
so do something about it off line and lets see where that goes oh joseph the kungfu online super god you!
love and kisses
f
Frank,
Everyone uses this couplet, but no one said Jeong Yim AUTHORED it except on your school website. If Jeong Yim was literate, he would have left some writings behind, but there is no evidence of that. If you know your Chinese then you would know it takes an educated person to write like that
Also if you know your CLF protocol, then you would know there is one set couplet for the entrance to the school, one for the Gwan Kung alter and one for the lineage alter. This has always been the tradition and it applied to all branches. Do you know what they are for your gwoon?
If you don’t know, then at least have the humility to ask instead of shooting off your big mouth and showed how little you know about your own tradition.
Futsan could never be the birthplace of CLF because both Chan Heung and Jeong Yim were from Xinhui. You are showing your ignorance again!
If you are going to be a historian, then you need to learn some Chinese, some CLF geography, some CLF history and some CLF protocol.
If you got any Mo Dak (martial virtue), then please have some respects for your follow CLF practitioners, they are your sihengdi, sisuk or sipak, etc. no matter where they come from. We are all related because we have one common ancestry.
May you walk with peace amongst us.
sure
you are still my guinea pig big brother joseph. thanks for opening up that chest of yours for me. it didn’t take much for you to spill the beans on what you know did it?
sucker!
