Hi,
I am considering joinning a Kung fu School.
It advertises teaching Seven Star NOrthern Mantis adn Chin-na.
I was wodnering if anyone has opinions on the Seven Star style?
BTW, the school is Fu Shen Temple in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Seven Star is a great system, But alot of it depends on the sifu..

Well I have heard of that school , I learn further north in Toronto.
I know that school teaches a lot of different styles. I saw a booklet that they hand out, with Mantis, and Eagle claw.
I say check them out if you feel they are SERIOUS over there train if not leave them…
But if you go let me know how it is.
Its always good to hear a GOOD mantis schools out there.

I am going next week for a trial, to see how it is.

By the way, the school is WU Shen Temple as opposed to FU Shen temple as I wrote earlier.

Wu Shen is the only one I can find.

I have seen this group represented at…
Sifu Henry Chung’s annual tournament in Midland Michigan.
Sifu Chung is about as traditional as you can get. His students have placed first in competitions in China and America. He is close with many in the Mantis community (my school included) as well as Lau Family Eagle Claw, and is also friendly with Kungfu Magazines Martha Burr, and probably our friend Gene.
Chung Sifu isnt one to associate himself with “frauds” I would say that from what I have seen and who I know is actively participating with this Canadian group, that you are pretty well off associating yourself with this organization. Good Luck.
P.S. the last guy I saw did a fantastic drunken demonstration… I think he was from that group…

What happened?
I will also say that Sifu Chung is a good sifu as well, I have been to his tournment and lots of his seminars. In fact was eatting with him last month.. But he is really nice person and a good sifu.
