Not to be a pain but that is not an “historical article”, it is a story about the history of Jow ga.
A historical article would include citations proving the claims or at least citing sources (perferably independent).

No worries, it’s just that it is to easy for us to forget that we are passing on stories and NOT historical facts and what happens is that we end up getting people believing that CMA started in the shaolin temple and that WFH could carry 300lbs in each hand and silliness like that.

I firmly believe that YES, all southern arts share a “common ancestor”.
That this commonality has “evolved” in different ways over the many generations makes a lot of sense based on what we see even nowadays in MA.
