I’ve posted before about my acquaintance who trains bukti negara silat and has experience with jailhouse rock. Well, last night, I was talking to a guy from a kenpo class, and he was telling me about his friend, how awesome he was and how massive his forearms are. He said the guy trained kali and a style similar to it known as 52 blocks. I was like “wtf? you know someone that does 52 blocks?” and he confirmed it. I told him I wanted to meet the guy - hopefully we can set something up.
On an interesting side note, here’s some lyrics from various raps that mention 52

its the use of elbows and anything and everything so i have read at this site http://go.to/stickgrappler
they make it seem like an art form, which is just dirty fighting. once i was driving in Brooklyn and saw some guys fighting they were slapping elbows, i didnt pay it any mind. it was nothing special

yeah, I’ve read that before. I know someone with experience in it too. It’s great stuff - way more than just “slapping elbows”

i know theres more than that, in prison they use elbows, but i saw in the street they slapping their own elbows
