Hey

Hello everyone,
I just signed up and thought that I’d introduce myself.
I’ve seen some familiar names but for those that don’t know who I am, I’m from Ottawa, Canada and practice Ving Tsun.
My lineage if interested is :

Yip Man - Moy Yat - Sunny Tang - John Peluso - Me

I’ve only been practicing for about 4 years or so - definitely green (not literally cause that’s just nasty)

Anyways, there’s my short intro. Looking forward to sharing.

Pce,

J

Hi Jeff!
My Sifu is also in Ottawa and a good friend of your Sifu.(yes!..Even if they are in different Wing Chun families!..) :)Welcome to the forum.

Hey Jeff,

There are a few of us from Canada here.

I know your Sifu (not well), and we may have even met on occasion since we have the same Sigung.

Welcome,

old jong

Is your Sifu Patrick Gordon?
I’ve met him a few times. He’s come out to celebrate my Sifu’s birthday or drops by the club once in a while.
It is great to see that not everyone is crazy when it comes to the lineage thing.
Thanks for the welcome.

J

Matrix (Bill)

Where do you train?
Have you ever been to our kwoon?
It’s a small world
Thanks

J

Jeff,

Yes, I have been to your Kwoon a few times. Usually when Sigung comes into town for a seminar. There’s only one other VT school in town, so you know where I’m from. You can ask Dennis about me if you like… and whatever he says, it ain’t true.

It is a very small world. Hang around here, but I warn you that it is addictive.

One more thing, on this Matrix thing. For the record, when I signed up here a few years ago, it appeared that everyone was using screen-names. So when I registered, I had a mouse pad from the movie “The Matrix” sitting right there. Nothing deeper than that. It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

Peace,

Matrix (Bill)

No worries about the name. I liked the first movie, as for the 2nd and 3rd …
Who am I kidding, I like all kung fu flicks. The cheesier the better.

BTW, I like the new site you guys have up and your bro D is hilarious. For some reason he calls me G-Unit, he’s a good guy.

J

Jeff,

Yeah, D is a great guy, but don’t tell him I said that.
He is funny, but takes his art seriously. A good sense of balance.

Were you at the Toronto event a few weeks back?

Is your Sifu Patrick Gordon?

Exactly!..

BTW’about “Matrix”…<whispering with hand in front of mouth, looking around> I met him a few times and he dresses exactly like Neo,boots, long black coat, sun glasses etc!..He is also attracted by skinny women with short pulled back black hairs who dresses like Cat woman and can do the scorpion kick in bed!..(he told me!)</whispering with hand in front of mouth, looking around> So,that’s for the forum name!..

I couldn’t make it. My wife is pregnant and she’s got pretty bad morning sickness, so I gotz to do the right thing and be there for her. But once the morning sickness is gone I’m outtie : )
Kidding but hopefully I’ll get to go to some things coming up in T.O.

Quick question, were you at Darell’s opening in Montreal?

Re: Matrix

No, I missed that. :frowning:

I was actually training with Darrell this past weekend. We had a great session. Awesome group of people, but hey, they’re from Montreal how could they be anything else.

You are correct on doing the “right thing” by your wife. It’s all about priorities. Wife and kids are always number ONE.

Jeff,

I’m sure we will meet soon. Keep you eyes peeled for a tall, good looking guy, cool shades, with a long black coat, boots and a very beautiful lady. I’ll be standing right behind them.

They are a real good group of people. Actually, I was in Montreal for my bachelor party and Darrell set the whole thing up. There was like 20 of us running around Montreal. Dam that was a fun night.
