Good stretches for a beginner.

What are some good stretch exercises for a beginner in Kung Fu? (I’m currently taking Shaolin Long Fist, been doing it for about 6 weeks or so, so still very new at all this). thanks!

Have you asked your sifu? They are usually the perfect person to ask these things, just because it can be kind of hard to communicate different stretches without actually showing you.

my sifu isn’t around most of the time. there are other instructors. i just figured i would ask here and see what other people recommend. i’m seen most stretches, i’m sure i could figure out exactly what you mean from a simple short description.

You gotta figure out exactly which muscles are lacking the range of motion needed in your martial art. Then stretch those muscles. Sounds like a no-brainer, but theres no way that we can tell in what areas you are lacking flexibility.

Ok, say it’s my first week ever doing a martial art. Imagine I too, have no idea which muscles are lacking the range of motion needed in my martial art. In fact, say I’m a person who before this, really never worked out ever, never went to a gym, and knows little to nothing about fitness. What basic stretches would benefit ANYONE doing martial arts for the first time? I’m just looking for real/basic simple type suggestions.
