I know this move exists in several styles but I don’t know the name. Basically, you are lying on your back on the ground and you flip up to land on your feet. There seems to be at least two versions, one where your hands are on the ground just above your shoulders and you use them to push off, and another where the hands aren’t used at all.
Anybody know what this move is called and have a description on the mechanics of how to do it properly?
I can do the version using the hands w/ no problem. But I can’t seem to do the “no hands” version at all. I’m just not getting the mechanics behind it, I guess.
By the way, regarding the breakdancing comment (I know it was a joke, but…). I think this move appears in drunken forms more than anywhere else. Does anybody know what it’s called in Chinese forms? I doubt they call it a “kip”…
carp kick , kip up same thing.. for no hands it requires strong abs and utelises the back of the shoulder and momentum to get you off the ground. throw back your legs to your chest then spring forward and up and tuck your legs under and behind you, bringing your feet to where your ass was basically.
And anything about everything, and we have now walked in a circle!
Lets put that together.
We know… everything about nothing, and nothing about anything, yet anything about everything!
I think we may have just made our own proverbial wisdom here starchaser.
“And we breakdance too.”
lol… actually…
Tiger drop = worm crawl
Kip up = Forgot, but its used lots in breakdancing
Crane sweeps = very similar to flare’s… If I knew more breakdancign Id make more comparisons.
