While I was at the gym today, I heard something interesting - the brain behind ‘survivor’ and ‘the apprentice’ is working with sugar ray leonard to create a reality show called ‘the contender’
could be cool…
i actually liked the ‘tough enough’ series when it came out.
those kids worked their butts off.
I’d like to see something along those lines, provided they just keep all of the creative editing and scene set-ups to a minimum.

They should format it along the lines of american idol. 
the tryouts would be hilarious!

that sounds very cool…If I had a TV set where I could understand the Language properly..I’d definately check it out..
and the big question – would anyone be surprised to see buster douglas’ name on the applicant list.
i was not told to say anyhting but im the winner. a 175lb skinny white dude who does TMA, not MMA. :o 
shaolin is an mma by definition though! more than 200 styles (900 if you do SD:eek: ) all ranges, stand up, ground, china na, weapons, iron skills, it’s got it all man!
and unless you are more than 6 ft tall, 175 ain’t that skinny.

I thought I read something about that.
They stock up fighters for each weight division and then kinda create their own org to develop talent with winners from each season.
Like their pros wouldn’t just shoot over to WBC or IBF or something like that; it’d be more of an ongoing, in house thing.
THE CONTENDER
executive producer and host - Sly Stallone
trainers of the contestants - Foreman and Sugar Ray
fighting style - boxing only
prize - overall winner has a shot at a pro boxing big fight
requirements - wannabe contestants must not have fought pro before
format - follow them training, learning, elimitating each other, etc
on air - fall 2004 USA

Wow. That sounds cool. I get bored with reality tv shows. But this one I’d tried to keep with when it airs.

if it were in canada NP they’d have to since they are communist.
it will be a cool show. maybe they show have a reunion like 5 yrs later to see how much brain damage they have.

Our resident movie reviewer Dr. Craig Reid was working on a project that was a reality-based stunt man show, but unfortunately it didn’t go through. I imagine such things are hard to insure. He’s still working on it, so it might still come to be.
