Black hat
Does some research on Black Hat feng shui and realize it is a hoax perpetrated on the western world before you buy any books, etc. Look for a non black hat practitioner to help you.

well for the past 12 years I have been training in all forms of chinese cultrure as well as kung fu. I learned to speak, write and practice chinese arts. The only thing that I have not done it to decorate my home according to feng shui. I know how to do the basics but a little confused on some of the readings, so I hoped that I could get some help from the people on this board. but thanks for asking
Sorry

How did you go about learning chinese? I am currently teaching myself through books, audio tapes, and cd rom, do you know of any good courses?

First I had to learn the chinese names of all the techniques in our system it is one of the requiremnts for sifu level, and also my sifu spoke broken english so you had to learn a little to understand him, but I really learned it when I met a famous qi-gong master from beijing who spoke no english and began to train with her, she taught me qi-gong I taught her english and all the while had to learn mandarin just to understand her. I can not speak it fluently yet but I try.
Im not sure about learning from a book becuse words dont always sound as the are spelled either wade-giles or pinyin have not been able to make you understand how to hold hua or huh sounds in your throat, I guess a tape would be better as for phonetics but again Im not sure but good luck and remember english is much harder to learn than chinese!!!
