damo cane specs.

I’m going to learn damo’s cane soon, but the canes my school ordered dont seem right to me. they feel too light, and they’ve got ornate carvings on them. I wouldn’t trust it to support my weight as a cane, let alone use it as a weapon…(and I’m not a big guy).

Anyone who is familiar with this weapon; what are common specifications of one? how tall, approximately…what should it feel like, its weight…is it usually straight handled or curved…(I’ve seen demonstrations with both)?

Traditional Tamo Canes

A lot of things are called Tamo Canes - see my article in our 2002 Shaolin Special. Even the Tamo hidden dagger is sometimes called a cane. Can you describe the cane your school is using more accurately?
