Hello,
The book has the genealogy of Northern Mantis Boxing: it list the names and movements of 38 forms , empty hand and weapons.. I don’t have the translations(sorry).

We have a mutual friend who can let you know just give him a call

The Chaap Choy book contains the list of most of the forms practiced by the WHF clan. The moves are broken down into the kuen po, but if I have to tell you that, the kuen po will do you no good. You must know the names of the techniques used in the style for it to help. It is not always so simple to understand. Certainly not enough to learn the entire sets from. But if you know what he moves are the kuen po can be a valuable asset. The book by Lam Wing Kit (SanDong TongLong) uses a lot of the same kuen po but the directional turns are expressed clearly. Here are the hands sets just for reference. There are other forms than those listed in the book that are taught from Wong Hon Fun as well.

The Forms in the Chaap Choy Book in order:

  1. SupSei Lo
  2. Bung Bo
  3. Sup Bat Sao
  4. daw Gong
    5.Chaap Choy
  5. Baak Yuen Chut Dong
  6. Bak Yuen Tau Tao
  7. Dai ga Sik
  8. Siu Ga sik
  9. Dai Fan Che
  10. Siu Faan Che
  11. Muy Fa Lok
    13 Muy Fa Kuen
  12. Muy Fa Sao
  13. Yat Lo Jak Yiu
  14. Yee Lo Jak Yiu
  15. saam Lo Jak Yiu
  16. Hak Fu Gaw Cha
  17. Joy Lo Han
  18. Se Lo Bun Da
  19. Fei Ngan Jeung
  20. Lin Wan Gam Tao
  21. Yau Ling Jeung
  22. Tong Long Chut Dong
  23. Tong Long Tau Tao
  24. Lan Jeet Kuen

The rest are weapons sets. Staff, dahn dao, seung dao, Dai dao etc.

Thank you Shifu Albright for putting the forms up. I am going to try and get the kuen po’s translated, there are less than a hand full of the forms that I do not have.

thank you carl ,
glad of your help.
and also i would like to say. i like the site you posted too .

best regards holymantis

These were all books at one point so you can check for them when they pop up now and again. Also since many of the same techniques are used throughout the books, you can use some books to help translate the kuen po in Chaap Choy. The Fei Ngan Jeung book has the principles explored a bit. Good luck!

Where would one find the WHF chaap choy book.
