blocks and their chinese names

i have been studying clf for some time now, but because of a language barrier we never learned the chinese names of clf blocks.

can anyone help me with the chinese names?

i know cum jerng, poon kiu, but for example, the over head block. we have a cirlce block but i don’t know how to say circle in chinese.

fu pow, or clfnole, you guys seem to have a good amount of knowledge, can you help?

thanks

I am not quite sure which block you are referring to if its the upward block with the forearm you could use goht sow or goht kiu.

Hope that helps.

Here’s a few;

:wink: Of course not every school will subscribe to exactly the same terms but hope this helps;

Forearm / Kiu Blocks
Jeet Kiu - Intercepting Block
Gung Kiu / Gung Chuen - Over Head Block
Poon Kiu - Tangling Forearm
Yeung Kiu - Outward Block
Chum Kiu - Seek Bridge

Hand Blocks
Pak Sau - Slapping Hand
Cum Jeung - Cover Palm
Tui Jeung - Push Palm
Gui Jeung - Lift Palm

FIgured I might as well add a few blocking names as well…(Cantonese spelt phoenetically)

Gwa sau - rising hand
Jeet sau - intercepting hand
Jiu giin sau - mirror hand
Pak sau - slapping hand
Chase sau - circling hand
Pon sau - clinging hand
Haught sau - scraping hand
Nahp sau - parrying hand

It’s early right now and if I think of more I’ll come back.

thanks

That’s exactly what i needed.

thank you for taking the time to list them for me green cloud and fire palm.
