Wooden Dummy question for the wise Wing Chun guys here...

I talked to my sifu.He said that it couldnt hurt, but it wouldnt do much.He said that he wouldnt go aainst me getting one.All he realy said is that you shouldnt have one unless your ready because there wouldnt be much use of it…

Martial Joe,

If you have a training partner, you might look to purchasing a focus mitt (for punching) and an air shield (for kicking), that two or more can use.

You’d have some cash left over to do as you please with, or to add to for that wooden dummy later on down the road.

The wooden dummy, heavy bag and speed ball are all good investments, just a bit hard to haul down to the park for an afternoon work out.

My focus mitt and air shield have paid for themselves many times over.

Whichever way you go, I would agree with those who say to buy high quality. Please let us know how it goes.

don’t buy…

… anything made of plastic or PVC. don’t waste your money. Unless you’re just going to beat on the thing.

Only get the very best. It’s worth the investment and will last forever if you take care of it.

Personally, I would invest the money in any upcoming Ken Chung seminar and the plane ticket to get me there.
