What’s’ the difference between…

I’m not trolling. My buddy teaching me some long fist…but doesn’t know a thing about Shaolin…

So I’m posing the question,
What’s’ the difference between Shaolin and long fist? Just style? ..(including application etc…)

Or Is there a certain element you can see within a Shaolin form that makes it different than Northern or southern long fist…i.e. way of movement or certain power generation etc…

Southern long fist

what is southern long fist?

Well I’m just getting back into long fist…Years ago thought I saw a style being described as southern long fist.

heck, I could be mistaken…

anyone?

Longfist is a classification that encompass certain Chinese styles. They don’t have to be Shaolin. Cha Chuan is an example of non-Shaolin longfist. In terms of Southern Longfist…Bak Siu Lam is Northern but some lineages have a Southern accent. This thread has some good information on it’s longfist classification. http://forum.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42523
