What Do You Guys Do To Keep Down Your Body Fat????

After videotaping myself I noticed that I have some unwanted body fat, mainly in my upper body. I’m not fat but I’m not cut either. What do you guys do besides kung fu forms to keep at your fighting weight. My form looks good, now I’d like to make me look good doing my forms.

No, seriously, I look like a length of rebar stuck through a monster truck tire. I need to start running regularly and cut the fatty (but oh so good) parts of my diet.

I sure miss the days when I could pound 6 hotdogs and not gain a pound, but those days are over and I’m getting up in age so my metabolism isn’t what it was.

My secret is lots of protein and low carbs.

use carbs for energy while working out “only”

I know its hard, but stay away from fast food places they are the leading cause of heart disease.

Lots of fresh fruit and veg is a big one,I know this isn’t a big thing for alot of MA but I do alot of endurance training,runing can not be beaten for dropping weight but at least 3 times a week ,and I don’t know how far you consider is a long way but I would say at least 5km.

Cut out candy and donuts. Drink gobs of water and run and bike. I can drop about 5% body fat in 45 days doing this alone.

Go back in time a choose parents who will cause you to be born with a faster metabolism :slight_smile:

Haha, sorry, I had to say it. Someone once asked “how can I improve the peaks on my biceps?” and the reply was “go back in time and choose different parents so you’re genetic code will give you a peaked biceps.”

Ok here’s what I do…

exercise enough in a day so that you burn more kilojules than the amount that you eat.

So I try to eat about 5000kj a day, which means if I have the time throughout the day, estimate to burn 6000kj. Its almost impossible if you actually have a life…and I do..so I try my s=best, but hey, at the end of that day I eel good for trying:D

funny thing is i can already see it working.

eat sensibly.

keep the saturated fats to a minimum (easy on the chips and processed foods)

do your kung fu, or take long walks.

eat less in a sitting and have more sittings.

Kung Lek pretty much said it all, but:

  1. Drink at least 8 pints of water a day. It preents the build up of saturated fat, and stops you feeling hungry.

  2. Exercise BEFORE breakfast. You burn off fat rather than your morning bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats :smiley:

  3. Don’t eat after 10pm, it’ll stay on you all night.
