Sifu will begin teaching us a Tong Bei Boxing set soon. I am interested to get an idea as to whats in store.

There are several styles shared the same name.
Even within the style, there are subsystems.
Tong Bei was thought to be a very wonderous fighting method as recorded by Huang Zong Xi in Ming dynasty.
It was thought to be the mother of long fist, mantis and Nei Jia.

I love clips of the old masters.
Those clips look to be of the tongbei long armed ape style, not the shaolin temple style. I know the big and small tongbi (or tongbei) forms from shaolin and they do not use so much swinging of the arms and body hitting to generate power.
