the new james bond

now that perce has called it quits
who do you nominate?

I say Clive Owen

Hank Azaria.

Sean Connery - Geriatric Bond

The best ever. He could still kick ass (and hit it, too).

We need a different kind of Bond for the new millenium.

I recommend someone most moviegoewrs won’t recognize so there won’t be so much in the way of prior expectations. But he’ll need proven charisma, commanding physical presence and cinegenic appearance, plus an air of dangerousness and sex appeal for the ladeeeez.

So, I’m thinking William Hung.

oh man, you should be shot :stuck_out_tongue:

neal patrick haress. :stuck_out_tongue:

outside favourite:

Jeremy Northam

Have heard the following names mentioned: Christian Bale, Hugh jackman, Jude law

Eric (little early in the morning for kung fu isnt it mate?) Bana?

The new Bond GOTS to be Brittish, for fåcks sake

speaking of bond… anyone seen Halle Berries latest ?? … kick as* stuff… gotta luv a classy kungfu babe…

I’ve heard Bana is the front-runner. What about Ewan McGregor?

Well, let’s see. Catwoman is trashy, not sleazy, and Halle Berry doesn’t do any ma in it - it’s all stuntsfolks and CGI.

So, what’s to love? Oh, yeah. NOTHING!

Ewan is anti-Hollywood bigtime. I don’t think he’s sign on for such a shallow, sell-out franchise.

a few comments

halle berry did martial arts in the movie catwoman, she studied intensely in the art of capoeira for the film. not kung fu.

eric bana yeah i heard he was the front runner as well, but somehow i just don’t see him pulling it off. if they select him it’s gonna be a horrible decision just like when they selected timothy dalton… it just didn’t have that “bond” feel to it.

mk so star wars isn’t sell out?:stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, I bet you can say that with a straight face.

Tim Dalton wasn’t horrible (George Lazenby) and he was closer to the Ian Fleming Bond than anyone (including Connery).

“Tim Dalton wasn’t horrible (George Lazenby) and he was closer to the Ian Fleming Bond than anyone (including Connery).”

Art has the tendency to evolve, and I suppose if we are being true to life/true to flemming then you’re right,
but if it’s a matter of public opinion i think connery is the peoples choice, even if his portrayal isn’t based on real world spy tactics.

I won’t recant I think dalton bit donkey buttocks when it came to bond.

Connery’s my favorite too. My favortie Bond movie is “From Russia with Love.” I’d have loved to see Connery in “OHMSS”

pierce is my favourite
::(braces for backlash)::
he is though, i think he’s the best bond thus far surpassing even connery, I’ll be sad that he won’t return to do more, but in all honesty after watching it a few times that last one " die another day" was total crap , and halle … i love halle but… she was unfit for the role

maybe it’s a case of her real life character being to large for the role , or, maybe she just acted horribly in it, who knows , all i know is i didn’t like it or her in it.

What’s he doing? Making documentaries on the production of cheese for public television?

He must be living in poverty.:frowning:

I think they used a stuntman for that part.

Pierce is my second favorite, but I think the problem is the derivitve nature of the Bond movies in general. I think they should stop or reinvint them somehow. Make them period pieces of the Cold War. The Bourne movies have been better spy movies of late.
