Tai Sheng Pek Kwar

Hellow all. I wanted to ask for any general info on this art. I know it has monkey movements, but if you all could enlighten me on its origins and history it would be appreciated!!

Sorry if I misspelet it
ruguo ni neng kan zhege, ni keneng shi Zhongguoren !

Isnt that the “hands of the monkey, feet of the leapord” style or whatnot? Mostly monkey movements, leapord style footwork.

Is somewhere in your area teaching it? May as well go visit the school, watch a couple of classes. Go see what they are all about.

No, nobody in my area teaching it, just curious. Thank you I didn’t know about the leapord footwork.

Tai Shing Pek Gwar Moon is a combination of two styles - Tai Shing - Monkey Style and Pek Gwar - Axe Fist. The systems founder was Ken Dak Hoi, who was Chan Sau Chung’s sifu. Sifu Chan Sau Chung now lives in Vancouver and has a school that he and his son, Chan Kai Leung teach at.

Their website is:

I have met and hung out with them before and learned that students first learn the pek kwar system, which has a lot of had and weapon sets. Advanced students that have followed for many years learn the monkey sets. This group is rather few from what we learned.

Peace.

Thank You

Here’s a tai shing video that might interest you. We also carry their staff, broadsword and ditang.

Hey Gene, out of curiousity, how come there are no video clips for the Monkey videos even though they are located under the TC Media video section? Thanks.

Thank you all for the replies. Stacey I cant quite understand what you wrote. Gene, thanks for the sales pitch but I just had a minor curiosity, but dont worry for all my martial needs I do get them off you guys.

pb- We did all our vid clips like two years ago when we produced a cdrom video sampler. It was quite a process - selecting and digitizing everything. The Tai Shing videos were porduced after that project, as were a few others, so those we haven’t done yet.

bdt- You can also check out our cover stories on Chan Sau Chung (MAR APR 2001) & his son Chan Kai Leung ( JUL AUG 2002) plus there’s an archived ezine story - it’s all free access, so no sales pitch…ok maybe a little sales pitch

Thanks !
