Victor Wembanyama drew attention before Game 6 vs. OKC by wearing a dark green robe, later explaining it was not linked to his Shaolin training in China but was instead worn in observance of Eid al-Adha, an Islamic holiday.

Victor Wembanyama bounced back in a big way after a quiet Game 5, when he shot just 4-of-15 from the field.
This time, he led all scorers with 28 points on 10-of-21 shooting, including 4-of-9 from three-point range. He also added 10 rebounds and three blocks in a dominant all-around performance.
The 22-year-old star arrived at Frost Bank Center wearing a distinctive dark green robe paired with grey pants and matching slides. After the game, he was asked about the outfit in French and explained its meaning.
Wembanyama clarified that the robe was not a reference to his summer visit to a Shaolin monastery in China, where he trained for nearly two weeks before the 2025-26 season. Instead, he said it was worn in honor of Eid al-Adha, an Islamic holiday.
“It had nothing to do with the monks,” Wemby said during the post-game conference. “Yes, indeed, it’s for Eid.”
Eid al-Adha is a significant Islamic celebration that honors themes of devotion, sacrifice, and charity, and is traditionally marked by prayer and family gatherings.
With the series now tied, the Spurs will try to secure a place in the NBA Finals in Game 7 on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET against the OKC.
